NAIL ART AND SPA 1 in Elgin, IL

Had an appointment today at 12 o'clock got there about five minutes earlier. There was about four people ahead of me 1225 comes and the receptionist seated. Everybody that came after me including the people ahead of me before me I was the only person left. Worst experience I ever hadwill not return nor recommend

I recently relocated to the Chicago area a few months ago and I am sooo glad I found this nail shop! I am very particular about my nails, it's a form of art & expression for me! Yen is now my regular nail tech and she is awesome! I can show her any picture of a nail inspiration and she is always able to nail it and add her own spin on it! She is amazing at nail art & also pretty quick as well!! There are also other great nail techs like Rachel, she did my nail art the very first visit I was there! I highly recommend this nail shop they are very up to date in what is trending. They also have all the cool new hip stuff to make your nails a masterpiece. Chrome, glitter, clear tips, rhinestones...you name they can do it, the possibilities are endless! Also a plus is they also play pretty good techno music It is a new beautiful facility and everything is kept very clean! I will continue to go to this shop faithfully for the next couple of years, until military orders send my family elsewhere!!

I was a loyal customer to this shop for over 5 years, even after moving an hour away, I still made the drive to come here and refer my family friends to this shop so it is with a heavy heart that I write this review. On Jan 4th I came here for my usual full set and pedicure but this time I brought my mom and sister to get manicures and a pedicure. I spoke so highly of this place to my mom, as she was visiting from Texas so I was extremely excited to take her to "my spot". When I arrived, I was greeted per usual and they sat us all down at our appointment time. During my And my mom's pedicure, we requested acrylic for one toe nail and was told that it was going to $15 per toe, I was puzzled because I get acrylic on my toes all the time at this establishment and I've never been told or charged $15 per toe so I kindly declined. This really upset my mom so to cut down on time I decided not to get my full set and just settle for a pedicure. Once we were all done, I went to the desk to pay and the desk attendant told me the total was $230, I was a bit taken aback by the price as we only had two pedicures and two manicures, mind you every single time I come here I spend between $170 and $200 ON MYSELF ALONE because I usually get deluxe services (dip powder, rhinestones, etc) so I was expecting it to be around $200 for those basic services. I then asked the girl to give me a rundown of the pricing, initially she seemed nervous about my question but she did eventually say that the pedicures were $50 each and the manicures were $35..... I'm really good at math and I knew that did not equal $230 so I asked her to repeat the prices again as I got out my calculator, when she repeated it again she proceeded to say the manicures were $45 and I said "oh wait, initially you said they were $35 each" She then yelled at me using hand gestures and said "I SAID $45" I was completely in shock, other customers started looking at us, I felt so embarrassed, uncomfortable, and belittled in that moment. My initial thought was "wow I can't believe this is happening to me at my favorite shop" and my second thought was, "I can't even speak up for myself, because as a black woman, I'm automatically going to be categorized as the aggressor if I respond" I then said "It's ok, you can charge my card whatever the price is, I don't need the breakdown because you are making me feel very uncomfortable" my heart was racing and my hands were shaking so bad that I could barely put my card in the slot to pay. I walked out of this nail shop with tears in my eyes feeling completely defeated. Overall, this was the worst experience I've ever had here and I am disgusted by the way I was treated especially after being such a loyal customer all these years. I will say, the new owner is very kind, polite, and pleasant to speak with but unfortunately she was not there that evening to de-escalate the issue.

The ONLY place I have been getting my nails done for years! Great staff, amazing and fun environment!

I went to multiple nail salons in search of the best nails. Mail Art and Spa is the winner! Super clean and they create beautiful nails that last!
