McKenna's Hair Salon And Spa in Hackettstown, NJ

I've been coming to McKenna's for over a year now! I went from long, dirty blonde hair with high lights to frost blonde with a lob! My hair usually comes out super orange and yellow... not this time! At McKenna's, my hair turned out exactly how I wanted it! If you want amazing color, a great haircut, and overall comfortable and amaxing experience, come to McKenna's!

I had been searching for a new salon for several months. I certainly found it at McKenna's. She is knowledgeable and talented. After 3 visits, I know this is my permanent salon!!!

I am new to the area and needed my hair redone because I'll be traveling overseas in a few days and I could not get ahold of my hairdresser. I went to get a free consultation by the owner who looked @ my hair and combed through it. She said my hair is long & thick. I asked how much would it cost me? She said $250.00 I said "WHAT!!!" & "Why?" She said "Inflation". I felt offended because there is no way for that price to be so high. I usually get a mild relaxer the most I pay is $80 and that is because my hair length is right above my shoulder. I wouldn't have mind paying $100 and given a tip for $20 = $120 but $250 that is highway robbery. I felt that she saw me for being a black person and did not want to offend me so she engaged in the consultation but jacked up her price so I wouldn't come back. Smh! I would have been satisfied if she was honest from the door and said she is not versed with my grade of hair instead she went up on that price. I would never step a foot back into that salon nor recommend anyone to go there even if they have straight hair, btw I am a black man.

I am so disappointed with my haircut. The lady that cut my hair was nice enough but I am really not happy. I went in asking to get about 4 inches taken off to a collarbone length, keeping it slightly shorter in the back and slightly longer in the front. She snipped a test section and we agreed on the length. However by the time she was done with the whole haircut I ended up with basically a chin length inverted bob which is exactly what I didn't want and SO much shorter than what we agreed to. As I was leaving she said oh I guess it ended up being shorter than you asked for. My comment was yeah I guess it'll grow back. I didn't have it in me to complain, because it's not like she can make my hair magically reappear....

Well my search for a great hair stylist is over! After a bad experience some place else, I went to McKenna's for a hair cut and I'm so glad I did! The owner is very pleasant and knows what she's doing. I will definitely go back again and trust her with my daughters hair too!
