Main Street Beauty Salon in Lake Elsinore, CA

Not sure why people are leaving negative review for this place. People need to understand this is small and minority owned business. When they get busy, they can't afford to hire more help like many corporate own business. I just went in for a haircut after I moved here two months ago. The guy cut hair asked me how I like my hair several time because I am not their typical customer. But it didn't matter, they treated me like any of their regular customers. I am totally satisfied with my haircut and will definitely go back.

I went in and asked for ombre hair that went from brown to platinum blonde. It cost $200 and it took 5 hours to complete. The result? I was horrified!!! He had dyed my hair all black instead!! I AM TRAUMATIZED! I am going to have to bleach my long healthy hair now to fix it and it will kill my hair. I SUSPECT THEY AREN'T EVEN LICENSED TO DO HAIR IN CALIFORNIA!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! STAY FAR AWAY IF YOU DON'T WANT TO DESTROY YOUR HAIR!!

Not happy!! I called made appointment with Joshua, I ask how much would it be for a touch-up. He reply by saying $35 and up- when I got to my appointment I told him see this white hair they need to be removed. my hair is blonde its light however when Joshua, was done he didn't give me a mirror to see up close I guess he knew why! Getting home I notice the white hair I was upset, I called and of course the mother who is the owner of the shop, tells me this blue blah story ridiculous, she said my hair had to go darker!! hello I told your son I had white hair he noticed that why didn't tell me that however she said come to the shop and I'll fix it that's not the point I paid $45 plus a five dollar tip. May I add my hair is not even close to my shoulders. I'm trying to support my community. Btw I am new to Lake Elsinore. She just lost a customer..

I am writing this review because I did not have a good experience. I called ahead to make an appointment for a color. The lady I spoke to said she could not give me a pricing over the phone but could tell me if starts at $35. That should have been my first clue. I thought great because I have a lot of hair it would be maybe $60 to $80 for my curly hair. I went in, showed a picture of how I'd like my hair to look and immediately started to color my hair. I will add that the price did not come up once. That was my second clue and mistake. As I was getting my hair colored, these ladies talked ill of their customers in Spanish. A customer was trying to come in with a stroller and could hear the lady behind me "this lady again" did not bother to help her inside. Another lady who worked there was off work and after she left, her own co workers were talking behind her back saying she is a part time and does not really help out much. Besides normal gossip, I got a negative vibe the entire time. Once she finished my color the lady asked me if I got a pricing when I walked in I said no. She looked at the other lady and told me it would be $95. I don't know if that is the regular cost now but that was preposterous they charged me so much. I have curly medium hair, no longer than my shoulders. I told the lady I was never told how much a color is after the fact I specifically asked how much it was on the phone but lady refused to tell me. The same lady blamed me for asking in the first place that it is my responsibility. Who talks to their customers this way. I rated 3 because she did a decent job on the color but very shady the moment I called and horrible customer service talking behind their backs and co workers. I went in for a haircut before which came out ok it was not at all straight which is what I asked for. Disappointed

This little beauty salon isn't fancy but their service is excellent. The ladies are all pretty friendly but Norma is the best. She listens to what you want and is very patient. Sitting in her chair is quite a treat. Come check out Main Street beauty.
