Magic Nails in Memphis, TN

I'm not sure I'll go back although I've been going, because the lady who did my nails this time was extremely rude. I picked bubble bath as I always do abs she said ma'am you're too dark for this color . I said ma'am I'm a clinical professional and only wear neutral tones in the hospital . She said ooh ok . I said the owner does this color on me and it's the only color I wear unless I'm on vacation she looked at me and started speaking in her native tongue to the other lady . I said what did you say , she said you want bubble bath color I said yes I already told you this . I asked her name she said Linda . I'm medium brown how in the world is it too light for me. Lady please. Lose me with that

I've been to Magic nails twice. The first was because it was the closest nail salon to my last stop while running errands. They are very quick, polite, and cost half of what I pay at any other nail salon. The shop is smaller, but I like that atmosphere. There is no complimentary wine or cocktails, but that's not a huge deal for me. I had a pleasant experience both times. I would go back.

This place is horrible!!!  The way the manager speaks to people is degrading and frankly abusive.  Me and my daughter have been coming in there for years.  All of a sudden she tells my daughter she is too fat to get a pedicure because the seats only hold 200 pounds.  Now I have seen plus size ladies like myself who weigh more than 200 pounds.  She said the chairs will only hold 200 pounds and repeatedly called my daughter fat.  Then got on the phone with one of her "girls" and continued to tell her how fat she was.  The water for pedicures in never hot, they don't let you soak.  My dad got us both pedicures for Valentines day and she told her we needed the money back since she cant come in there.  She replied "I dont give money back - give it to your grandfather." AND FOR THE ICING ON THE CAKE - manager added a 5.00 tip to my daughters card WITHOUT HER APPROVAL!!!!!  When confronted she took 5.00 out of the drawer and threw it at her.  Sorry we aren't little chinease / vietnamese people....but you never talk to a anyone like that.  Go back to your countries and learn some American Manners!!!!  Leave America and learn business ethics!!!!!

I had my translator on and I heard things I wasn't spose to hear. I will never never go back here n all blacks please don't. On top of that so the guy was rude and throwing my hands and all. I just requested my money back and left!! I advised anyone that this not the place to be

This place does a really great job and I've been coming here forever. The people are really sweet and care about their customers. However, there are a few things preventing me from giving this place 5 stars. The first is the service. They move pretty slow and are often understaffed. That in itself is not a huge problem especially since I have learned to call ahead or make a reservation but the largest issue is that they will tell you there is a 10 minute wait but I've actually waited around 30-45 minutes before. I do wish they would be a little more honest about wait times. The last reason I can't give them 5 stars in cleanliness. I have noticed they reuse towels for manicures and very quickly clean the pedicure baths (I wish they would use the plastic covers that most places use now). All that to say, I still come to this place which is a testament to how great of a job they do at nails and particularly acrylics. I just wish they would improve timeliness and cleanliness!
