MK is the best! Her and her staff are sweet and efficient. I go to her for wig braids, cornrows with added hair, and most recently I got small box braids!

I love this place. I called & she told me to come in. I got there around 1130/1140 & I went in for feed in braids going into a bun . She was trying to convince me that , because of my hair texture & breakage that the cornrows wouldnt look nice or last long. She convinced me to get large box braids but i was pressed for time I had to be out by 2 . When I say MK did her thing in 3 hours. She did her thing & I would recommend. I love my hair & I'm not going to any other braid shop . EVER! Also since its been growing like crazy . I told MK i needed them touched up. No issue . She said come in & ill fix it for you . No charge! She cares about her clients & wont allow you to walk out her shop any kind of way . Most braid shops just take ya money & could care less about how you look . MK cares she tells you her suggestions & is all about protection of the hair. She makes sure you are pleased before you give her money or leave her shop. Ill be back in 2 months for another style . I highly recommend!

DO NOT go to this shop!!! Go somewhere were the owner actually loves and has a passion for doing hair!! Go somewhere where they actually value paying customers. Not somewhere where the owner complains about doing your hair and doing it however she wants. This is what MK did to my head just because she didn't want to do it and charged me $120!! (I DON'T have alopecia or suffer from hair loss). Then she had the nerve to have an attitude when I called her about fixing my hair. Acting like she wanted me to pay her AGAIN! Talking bout she can't do "free work" (fix my hair) on a Saturday. People do hair at home in their kitchens BETTER than what she did to my head and charge less! I will definitely be going to a real shop to spend my good, good money! She charges full price for her fd up work. NEVER AGAIN!!!

I like this spot .I had no problems making an appointment to get my hair braided. I told them the time and date I needed and when I walked in for my appt I sat rite in the chair..no wait especially since it's Mother's Day weekend.. I had my own hair told them the style and they did the rest. The price was very nice and the area was ok part of hillside/Newark boarder. All in all it took 4 1/2 hours for my hair . I will definitely give this place another shot with my next style.
