M H Braiding in Henrico, VA

I went in to get a sew in with an ear-to-ear lace frontal. Once Minchta was complete, it was clear that she didn't know what she had been doing. My hair looked horrendous.The purpose of the expensive closure I purchased is to make the hair look natural and able to part in any direction. With the way she installed my hair, that wasn't possible. I called back and stated that I was unsatisfied with how it looked. Minchta agreed to fix it. I went back and she took it out and "fixed it", then took it out AGAIN and "fixed it" in that same time period. She CLEARLY didn't know what she was doing! Instead of saying that she didn't know how to properly install the sew-in, I spent about $150 on hair that she destroyed and paid her $160 for her services. They did a good and quick job with my hair and did my cornrows very similar to the picture I showed them. The hair salon is also very clean in comparison to other African braid shops I've been to in rva and nyc. am docking a star because I made an appointment and when I arrived the store was empty and no one was to be found. I waited about fifteen minutes to be seen and I'm one of those people that is anal about timeliness.

I have been going in this salon for a couple of years now. What i would say is they always go beyong my expectations. They Never took me for granted and always made me feel welcome. Not to mention how clean their environment is. I strongly recommend this shop ladies !!!!

This was the WORSE braiding experience I've EVER HAD!! I was lied to and manipulated! I was charged $160 for my hair and $30 to wash in a sink where I had to stand up and bend my head under faucet! I was told it would be two girls doing my box braids because it was late! One girl did it and RUSHED! Leaving HUGE spaces, different braid patterns, different braids! She had me looking like Snoop from L&HH! I paid because it was late but I told her I didn't like! I came up there the NEXT DAY on my lunch and she told me if I wanted a refund, I needed to take it out NOW! I recorded her saying that she rushed because it was one girl and she'll do it over! My scalp is still tender and I didn't have the time, plus I don't trust her! I still compromised and told her I'll come Friday to take it out (it's Tuesday)! She said if I waited until Friday, she'd take my hair out and only give me HALF!! I told her my scalp hurt and the situation with work and she told me she didn't care, she said she's from Africa and all African Americans do is complain about everything! I WAS APPALLED AND OFFENDED! The story gets way more horrific! But to make a long story short, DO NOT COME HERE TO GET YOUR HAIR BRAIDED!! They are RUDE, SCAMMERS! Nice until they get your money! They don't know the meaning of customer service! I'm definitely escalating this and get the legal team involved! I've never been so ripped off and insulted in my life!!! I went to CIKA'S but wanted to try something new, to go CIKA INTERNATIONAL BRAIDING IN HENRICO! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

This was my second time coming to Mintcha. The first time I got senegelese twist and the fell out of my head within hours of walking out of the shop, but I decided to go again to get crochet braids because after some research on the internet I was led to believe that they were the best at crochet braiding. I went on 7/8/15 and Mintcha did my hair herself. WHAT A TERRIBLE JOB. She braided my real hair down horribly so now there are huge lumps in my head, also she didn't put any false hair in the back! There are maybe ten pieces in the back and you can see my real hair underneath!! The knots weren't tied correctly and I had to re-knot everything myself, and all of the pieces are 2 inches apart exposing my real hair and making it obvious that it is fake. I wish I had truly examined my head before I left because that was not worth $160 at all. It only took her an hour and an half to do which is a plus, but considering there is hardly any hair in my head I am not impressed. HOWEVER i contacted Mincha and she was really nice about everything and said she will redo my hair free of charge :) :)
