Lusso Salon in Portsmouth, VA

I love Lusso Salon. I have been a customer since 2019 when it opened. Verdelle of VStyles is my stylist, and she is amazing. The owner of this salon is very professional and caring. She works extremely hard to improve this salon consistently. She has added highly trained stylists that produce fabulous weaves, wigs, braids, locs, natural styles, etc., The salon is rolling along beautifully. There is a full-time receptionist, sanitary precautions are always taken to ensure that all customers are safe and the music is mellow and enjoyable. I read a few of the older, negative reviews and I am sure there have been glitches but I was shocked to read those reviews. How unfortunate. I am glad that the owner and senior managers took the information seriously and made the changes to correct the issues before I encountered them. Today, Verdelle gave my grays a touch of brown and gave my natural hair a shiny twist. I love it. It was quick and exactly what I wanted. My hair is growing in evenly and I am so happy that it is no longer shedding. The proplex and steam treatments have brought my hair back to life. Thanks Verdelle and Lusso Salon!

I LOVE Lusso Salon! I travel from MD to CA so that Morgan from Lusso can treat and maintain my hair! Great salon, great customer service and great prices.

I went in to get a consultation on my hair so I could decide what would be the best style for me to go with. I decided that I would get a wash on the first visit, order my hair, and then get a full sew-in on my next visit. All three visits to Lusso Salon have been done with Morgan who is absolutely amazing. She made me feel comfortable about the style I was getting and made sure that she was not hurting me. I love the aesthetics of the salon. It is my beauty sanctuary to spend a little "me" time with the girls and chat about my day. I feel like I am a part of the family when I go there and I love that they are open on Sundays as well. It is my forever salon and Morgan has an establishment that is a cut above the best in my mind.

Pros: -This salon is very beautiful - Everyone here seems to be nice - They have good products to use on the hair Cons: -only a 1-2 hairstylist there actually have enough experience and education to do hair great and have you looking beautiful. The others can simply "do a hair style", but it doesn't look good at all. They need more trainng and experience. -there needs to be front desk cashier to handle:other customers walking in, scheduling future appts., as well as any other concerns -the owner is doing way too much at once and is unable to pay attention to detail. She isn't able to properly do hair or delegate assignments to other stylists or anything properly because, its just too much for one person -I had to tell her numerous times how to do something basic such as straight back cornrows on my daughters hair. Not only that I showed her another simple style with rubber bands and she couldn't do it properly. Then she put the rest of the work off for another hairstylist to do. I didn't come there for my daughter to he passed around. I came for 1 hairstylist. If you didn't know how to do a certain hairstyle all you had to do was let us know. Don't let us sit down in the chair just to take our money and not give us a property finished product. -my daughters hair looks nothing like what I came there for and I was also waiting for a very long time. I left there very disappointed but, I was trapped. I had already spent hours there and no one in the area had an appt., available at another salon -it is overpriced for what you get (if the hair looked nice it wouldn't of been a big deal) If I could get a refund that would be great.

I absolutely LOVE my hair!! The shop owner Morgan did my cut and color and I could not be happier! I sent her a picture of what I wanted and she tweaked it just a little in order to fit my skin tone better. The shop itself is intimate and beautiful. And all the ladies there were so much fun! We even played family feud while I was there I've had my hair colored twice now there and I will be going back for sure!
