I've been going to Lua for almost a decade and I've never had a bad experience. The quality is great and the team is really friendly. Some times I wish they had more neutrals or colors on trend, but I'm usually really thrilled with how my nails and pedicures turn out. Covid protocols in place were great last time I was there. Almost no one else in the salon and a big plastic shield between me and the tech at all times. It was great and the place is always clean.

I have been to Lua a few times now and usually have a good experience. The last two times I went were not up to par. Both times, I had the same woman doing my nails, I believe she may be one of the owners but I am not certain. Experience: I thought the woman was rough with me the first time but did not think much of it. My last manicure though was much worse. She cut my cuticles very roughly. She also kept going back to cut them at least 3x. Even once or twice after my nails had been painted. Once, she hurt me but it did not bleed and she apologized. It did not stop her though from continuing to cut. I also had an issue with the way she grabbed my hands whether it was to put them under the UV or putting them into the hot wax. It is not gentle or a relaxing experience. After my nails were painted I thought they looked nice. Then, she kept filing the sides of my nails after the gel was dried and it was slightly painful. She also continued to cut more and file the edges of my nails which I thought was unnecessary and would weaken the gel. It actually made it look bad, and it is the worst gel manicure I have ever received. Color choice: Not a good selection of colors at all. I had a broad color range in mind for what I wanted. Something in the tan/taupe/purple range and there was not one color that fit that description. I found one light tan which turned out to be see-through. I asked for what I was looking for but I don't think she understood fully. I asked for something more-opaque and she offered a light pink. I was fine with the color since there didn't seem to be what I was looking for available. She did check to make sure I liked the color so I appreciated that. After all of this, the gel manicure was very expensive - $38. More than I have ever paid for gel even at nicer salons in Philadelphia.

Salon is nice & appears to be a clean. I had a great experience however I went with my mom so we could get a pedicure together. The woman that worked on me was late to start which was I had no problem with at ALL. She sped up my pedicure so she could take care of another client/possibly also so I could finish at the same time as my mom. I understand being understaffed but why should I pay for a service that was turned into an express service? I will return one more time, but I won't again if this reoccurs.

I'm SHOCKED that no one has come on here to say what a TOTAL ripoff this place is!!! I just got a basic gel manicure and these con artists charged me $38!! First off when you choose your color you have to literally open multiple bottles on a wall because they don't have anything displayed on those nail displays. When I asked why it was so expensive a lady said they use all organic products. It was at that point I grabbed my OPI bottle and told her this was not organic! She then retracted and said they use all "new skin" products on a basic manicure but a spa manicure is where they use all organic products and they give a paraffin hand dip with the basic. So I figured I would humor them some more and have them finish my gel manicure thinking that there was going to be some miraculous amazing treatment at the end. let me also add that when they use the sand tool to grind someone's nail down they also use a very loud obnoxious vacuum to suck the dust off with... so there is definitely NOT a spa like atmosphere when you can't even hear yourself think over the vacuum!!! My manicure looks nice but it's not $38 worth and the lotion they used on me was in an unmarked bottle so who knows what it really was... it was probably some three dollar bottle of cheap lotion. when he asked if I wanted to have the paraffin dip I declined because who knows if they reuse their wax or what these people are totally con artists so I don't trust them at all! Not only will I never come here again I will make sure to tell everybody I know that this place is a complete rip off!! Do yourselves a favor and get a $25 manicure anywhere else because you're going to get the exact same outcome!!!

Will go back to Floris next time. Was here on a 92 degree day and there was NO AIR CONDITIONING! It's very small and tight in there, not much personal space at nail bar. Loved the ambiance and higher-end products used, but I probably wouldn't go back.
