I have been going to Lonnie's for several years. Nothing fancy, but good service at a reasonable price. The staff is friendly & eager to please.
4 of my friends and I were visiting from out of town and went to Lonnie's for pedicures, we all agreed that our pedicures were not good. First they rushed us, they did not massage our feet at all and it was crazy hot in the salon. We will not be back! We did tip our nail techs however they really did not deserve a tip.
I have been a regular client of Lonnie's and almost always have Sam do my nails since I get powder dipped and he does a good job. However I had an incident today where I was trying to show him (Sam) something on one nail that I wanted fixed and he kept explaining why he couldn't do it only what he was explaining was not what I was asking about. A total communication problem. Prior to that I had asked out of curiosity why sometimes the nails get bubbles in the polish. I didn't want him to fix them I was just curious why it happens. He told me I'm finding fault with all 10 nails and "not all 10 nails can be perfect" and he's "not doing this" so I can have someone else do my nails next time. I told him "did you just say that you are refusing to do my nails next time"? Yup pretty much. Then he pointed to the pedicure chairs and told me to go over there and someone will do my pedicure before turning his back on me. I think he was supposed to do them. He has done my nails since I started coming here but I will not be coming back. I was shocked at the disrespect.
I've been going to Lonnie's for about 10 years. Last month I had an appointment at 6pm, showed up at 5:55 & the place was packed! I sat there until 6:30 when a group of 6 walked in and were seated before me. At 6:40 I walked out & never going back. I've dealt with the waiting and overbooking for years because there are 2 very sweet and professional technicians that I adore! However, after being a VERY loyal customer (all of my friends dropped Lonnie years ago) for so long, I made the mistake of thinking that I actually mattered. I just wish my 2 favorite ladies would leave and work at another salon so I could go back to them.
Well, with the pandemic still in effect I was surprised to get into a salon. Now the color I picked out came out normal and the lady was nice, but I really think I got overcharged for what services I receive. I didn't even get a full set just a regular mani+pedi w gel polish with eye brow wax and it was $3 dollars shy of 80 bucks! I understand times are tough but I really think that's still high.
