Legends Hair Salon in Reno, NV

Omg do I love coming here to get my nails done! I see Katie and she is so sweet! She is open to virtually any idea I have thrown at her and I love my nails every single time! I spend about 2 hours here every 3 weeks and always leave with a super cute fresh set and am never disappointed.

I'll admit, when I moved to Reno in 2011 I came to Legends Hair and Nail Salon to have my nails done simply because it was the closest salon to where I was living.  Several years later I am still a loyal patron of this salon because I absolutely love the ladies here and always leave with a satisfied smile on my face and lovely nails to match.
The prices are reasonable and the quality of the nails, and the nail art they provide (for no additional charge) is fantastic.  
I now live across town (about a 20 minute drive on a clear traffic day) but it is well worth the drive to see my favorite manicurist, Sharleen, and the other friendly gals at Legends.

My daughter and I became clients of the owner. She and her staff are awesome. Not only is the ambience great but every time we are here we are treated like family.

Total disappointment. My husband went to Cathy for well over a year. I don't know how she keeps clients. He went regularly every 4 to 6 weeks, and she never kept an appointment book or reminded him. She never remembered him, or got to know him, she always talked about herself, never asked about him, or his life, and never remembered anything he talked about himself, even after over a year of his going to her. The last straw was when he called for an appointment, and she never called him back to make one!

The rest of the staff would never take messages for her, and like Tammy said, they would always talk among themselves, ignore the patrons, and were generally rude and unprofessional, even the owner. Once, my husband went in and stood there waiting to make an appointment, and they totally ignored him, so he finally walked out. Another time, they saw two women walking in with clipboards, and they thought they were health inspectors, and they all panicked and started throwing stuff away and in drawers and stuff. My husband also said that the stations were dirty and that the files and stuff weren't stored in disinfectant. He started going to Cost Cutters in Lemmon Valley, and he's much happier. At least they remember him from appointment to appointment!!!!!

Hi! I'm twenty-two and Cathy has been my one and only nail tech for the last seven years. She is beyond sweet and is ALWAYS looking for a challenge to try something new on my nails. She charges $35 flat for a fill. Not like other places that ask if you want glitter tips or pink & whites and charge you depending on the work they do, and I find that awesome! I had a job at one point that only allowed pink and whites and Cathy got so creative with them every single time that I wish I would've taken pics. If I give her an idea, or show her something I find online she'll do it with her own twist and make it even better than the original picture! They also do quick fixes without charging. In the past seven years I've only broken a nail twice and I can call them and they squeeze me in on the same day and fix it in a heartbeat.

Cathy and Sharleen did mine, and a friend's hair for our graduation in June and both turned out beautiful. Sharleen also does nails, is very witty and sweet. :) I've gone to Kayla for an emergency fix and a couple of fills when Cathy happened to be out of town/not around and she's also done a great job!

Yeah, the shop is small but it's very adorable and clean. The girls are so sassy and fun. They talk amongst themselves once in a while but clients are welcome to chime in and chat with them making the environment very comfortable. I'm more of the quiet type and just listen to them, their stories are hilarious sometimes!

The only downside? They don't have those fancy pedicure thrones. Though they do an amazing job at EVERYTHING they do! This is a place where once you come in, you're one of them. They treat you as if they've known you forever and don't do any of that "professional" high-pitched voice fake personality stuff. These gals are real and raw and I'm assuming that's why clients keep coming back.
