Lauras Wig & Beauty Supply and Salon in Chico, CA

I was directed to this wig store as the only one in Shasta County. I made an appointment looking forward to selecting a wig. What I met with is difficult to describe, I can only say that in addition to selling wigs they are also in the business of customer service, in that that regard I had a very negative experience. There was absolutely no interest in me as a customer. There was no warmth or caring, just a very cold deadpan response. Wigs are expensive, but there was never a thank you for my purchase. I don't have the answer why this would be the case, except to say that I believe the owner has lost all enthusiasm for her job. She pulled out one wig and no others for me to consider even though I had brought a photo of the very short style I wanted. The whole experience seemed like a blur, like I had been processed on an assembly line. There was no attempt to evaluate or measure me for the proper wig size and as a result the wig is too large. I noticed a similar thread in other reviews concerning the owner's demeanor as being unfriendly, and I would say bored, disinterested and annoyed. There was never a smile or normal pleasantries. It was a very off-putting experience. And a phone call I made later to ask some questions was met with what sounded to me like annoyance and anger. Obviously, I will never return to this shop. I wish I had been more knowledgeable to prepare for my appointment, but I expected to learn everything I needed to know during my appointment, however that was not the case. As a result, I spent a great deal of time researching the subject of wigs, sizes, shapes, fit, colors, quality, etc. and I purchased a short wig online, not received yet, hope it will work, but not worried they accept returns. I could never recommend this wig store to anyone.

I was directed here by Google maps. I was in search of black hair care products for my knotless braids. I arrived and greeted; I asked for black hair care products. The lady said "we get this all the time and I have to explain this so much..." hmm. If you have a need for black hair products why not add them to your store? The expression she gave showed it was a repeated request that she had to turn people away for. A simple solution for the business and the customers would be make your store accessible for all races. In 2023 in a wig store, if you don't have black hair care products you may as well put a "WHITES ONLY" sign on the door.

Today I went in looking for a human hair wig after I got off of work with more than enough to purchase to one (they're pretty pricey) and the blonde middle-aged lady rudely said "We only have one. It's expensive." Didn't even let me see it. Maybe I misinterpreted her tone but to me it felt very condescending and judgmental. Other than that they have good products and the other employees are super nice

This is what my hair looks like. I am appalled at the owners lack of professionalism. I spent 500.00 for this.

I went in today for first time. Loved store and staff was so helpful . I use to go to Sally's . But they have changed . So was pleasantly surprised by this little treasure . I'll be back for sure!
