If you are a Black woman who just can't sort out what to do with your natural hair, you've come to the right place. For many reasons: 1. The salon is impeccably clean, including the bathroom. 2. The vibe is relaxed and easygoing, with smooth R&B sounds in the background. 3. Kim gives undivided attention to your hair. She could have three or four people in at the same time, but she dedicates her time to one person, for the most part. 4. I had no idea what she was going to do, but she gave it a good wash, steam (new experience for me) and conservatively cut my loose ends. 5. I am very tender-headed but could barely feel her touching my hair, despite knowing that she was giving a thorough once over. 6. After she was done, Kim twirled me around in the chair and I didn't know who I was looking at!!!!! 7. Kim isn't stingy with her information. She showed me what to buy, gave me advice about how to do my hair (I live in New England). It was an amazing experience. Kim is highly intelligent, converses well, and it was really fun when one of her customers came in and patiently sat waiting for my hair to be done and we engaged in spirited conversation and debate, laughing a lot. It was overall a 100% enjoyable experience. She's worth every dollar you give her. She loves her people. She's absolutely wonderful.

I haven't had a relaxer since August 2013 and finally did the big chop in July 2014. I wore braids and weaves until January 2015 when I finally decided to start wearing my hair out in its natural state. I knew I'd need some guidance and one on one help with maintaining and styling my new natural hair, so I made my first appointment with Kim in 2015. I've been seeing Kim ever since then, and I followed her when she moved to her new studio at L'Enfant Plaza in 2016 (so proud of her by the way). Kim is amazing - attentive, sweet, and patient. She walks you through what she's doing, what products she's using, and will answer any question you have. And she knows what she's doing!! I always walk out looking amazing. She can do any type of twist (Bantu knots, flat twists, finger coils, etc.) you want, she does an awesome blowout, and she's an excellent colorist. I would recommend you see Kim for your natural hair care and coloring needs. You won't be disappointed.

I came here on a whim not knowing what to expect, and I'm so glad I stopped by. Kim was absolutely the best natural hair colorist and stylist I've ever had. She truly listens to her clients and makes sure that they leave satisfied. Kim colored my hair to perfection. She also styled my natural hair and made curls appear that I never knew existed. I don't think I've ever been this happy after leaving a hair salon!
