I work a busy job and just recently moved to the city. I was looking to get a quick trim and all over color (back to my natural black from a faded brown i'd grown out) and other places nearby said they were booked until NOV (it's october 4).  So I took a chance on this little place, (despite some weird reviews..that one from the guy with the fiancee what on earth...), and Kim fit me in same day (within 30 minutes) and did a GREAT job.  She was nice, professional and didn't talk my ear off which I appreciated. The color is beautiful and the shiniest I think i've ever gotten in my natural shade!  I loved the cut. I wanted a TRIM and she actually listened unlike so many stylists I have seen before who get scissor happy no matter what I ask for.  I was in and out in less than 2 hours with a wash, trim, adding in some soft layers, color, dry, and style.  I felt great.  She only takes cash, but there's an ATM across the way if you forget. I recommend her for sure.

Great little spot, once you find it. It should be 2040 not 2020 Grand. Kim is sometimes difficult to understand but she does a great job. The reason for three stars is that she only takes cash and there is no indication of that anywhere until you pay. So, you get to walk cross street to the gas station, pay the ATM three dollars and then your banks charge on top with that. No more

This a little salon on South Grand. Kim is usually the only stylist, but one time there was a young guy who cut my son's hair. Me and my daughters always get our cuts here and we love our results. Kim usually has a couple friends/family hanging out and they all talk Vietnamese(?) and I find it interesting to listen to them even though I have no idea what they are talking about. She's always friendly with us and very helpful with any questions we might have about our hair.

I do have to comment that she has raised her prices this past year. It used to cost me $20 including the tip, but this last time it was $30. That was kind of a shocker for me because I'm a bit on the cheap side, lol.

Good gravy it's been a month now and the fiance is still going off about her "horrendous" haircut.  

The first weekend she got it was hell:  I had to tiptoe around the place and not say a word about it.  

That evening I murmurred "I think it looks cute..." man... I was ridiculously close to sleeping on the couch, it's not even funny.

So I learned something new:  women can be crazy vindictive when it comes to their hair.  So two stars to you, Kim's Salon, for giving a horrible haircut that's led to months of frustration and anguish DIRECTED AT ME.
