K Spa in San Mateo, CA

The vibe at this salon is nice, but the work was disappointing and the service was lacking. Despite being the only two people in the salon, my sister and I were not able to sit together because I was getting acrylics and she wasn't. While this was slightly annoying, the real issue was the quality of the nails. I went in for a full set of acrylics and the results are disappointing. The length is inconsistent, the nails are slightly lumpy and at least one nail is uneven on the tip. She also filed them down significantly shorter than I had anticipated or asked for. Overall, the salon is fine. I would not go for acrylics or to spend time on a "girls day."

It was my first time here and I loved it!! Very relaxing spa! She did a great job and my gel manicure lasted as long as I wanted it to! They were very friendly and gave me some Vietnamese coffee:) I don't get my nails done often but this was a very nice treat! Open on Sunday too!

I have been going to K Spa for a couple months and love my nails with the owner My every time. She is very sweet and very caring for her customers. She takes her time and is very detailed. The nail spa itself is very clean and has a relaxing atmosphere. I'm always offered something to drink as well. I have been getting the dip manicure as there is a wonderful selection of colors. Thank you My for always a lovely visit!

They were nice until I went back the next day because my gel polish was peeling. I always decide if if I will come back to a nail salon based on how nice they are when their work doesn't hold up. I decided not to return because they weren't very kind and didn't listen.

K Spa is the higher end of an inexpensive nail salon. And that's how I like to roll. I'm not a person that loves a mani/pedi or thinks of it as pampering. It's a chore, and K Spa is clean and fast with attention to detail - and if they miss something, they are quick to correct. Pricing is not super cheap but it fits the quality. The owner My is very nice and runs the business well. She also does a quick and efficient wax. The only issue for some people may be their scheduling. Like many quick nail salons- it's best to just walk in. I laugh when I hear My on the phone with a customer trying to make an appointment. She's not looking at her book! She's not writing anything down! She's focused on the customer she's working on... "yes! Ok! Come then!" Click.
