K&E Nails in Chesapeake, VA

RUDE MALE STAFF! Do not go here especially if your a Black POC! I was visiting from NYC in October and I never been to a salon in VA but i googled this one! The way I was mistreated by the only MALE in the shop was ridiculous! He was fragile, short and mean! I came just to get a pedicure and in my mind I thought depending on how he does my toes I will get my nails done! Strike 1- Even though I had an appointment upon arrival this man asked Me 4-5 times to reschedule after I was already in the shop! I was not even from the area and refused to leave, as My ride had already left. Strike 2- He then proceeded to force me to do my nails first even though I insisted that I wanted my pedicure first, he asked me about 2-3 times before I finally gave in! I got gel French tips with pink colored acrylic and white tips which he first said would cost $50 and upon completing charged me $70 and explained it was because I used the pink color acrylic...ok....Once again I was on vacation, not sure what normal pricing is in VA but I said cool, lll let that slide! After doing my nails he Once again asked if I can come back in 40 minutes to do my toes, and I told him I didn't even want to do my nails if he was busy why would he not do my toes first as that was my priority! He was reluctant to take me which leads me to Strike 3- The pedicure. Let's start by saying I do not have pretty feet! However the way this man humiliated me in the shop several times, made me leave the shop in TEARS. Upon seeing my toes the man frantically asked me when was the last time I got a pedicure! I told him i got them done one 1 month ago, as summer ended I don't see the need to keep up with them as often! He proceed to ask me two more times how long had it been since my last pedicure each time, even louder than the last time, and when I gave him the same answer he said "No, it must have been 6 months!!" Now I'm from NY so you know I told him stop trying to play me especially after I am paying him for services! I know my nail tech at home may joke with me, but this man didn't crack a smile, laugh, nor did this man know me to feel comfortable enough to joke with me in that manner but it wasn't not a joke more so I was the JOKE! At that point I was holding back tears in the spa chair while he roughly proceeded to hold my feet in disgust. He rushed to finish my toes and did not clean them well! I paid $120 + tip, left in tears and by the next morning the gel had completely peeled off one of my toes, the nail had hairline cracks shortly after which pulled out my hair. Rude, misogynistic male staff I would never come back here again and I suggest RUN not walk to the other nail salons not even minutes away from this one!

Great nail salon!! Chloe is the best... The only thing that I don't like is they don't really do designs other than that they are my go to nail salon

Staff were very friendly to me; I love my pedicure! Prices seem reasonable and comparable to other salons. Busy salon so it is better to make an appointment. I was a walk-in, but I accepted an appointment to come back about two hours later which I appreciated them letting me know and not just waiting forever. However, two different people walked in while I was having my pedicure and were asked, pleasantly but from the work station, if they could come back tomorrow. If I was an employee, I would have explained the situation and offered an appointment tomorrow. If I was the customer, I wouldn't take a chance and just show up again because the same thing could happen again. Overall, I was happy with my experience - relaxing pedicure and a relaxing atmosphere. But, I will make an appointment next time

I've been here twice. I was considering making this my new salon as I recently moved to portsmouth. They do a decent job and the pedicure chairs look relatively new. Their sanitizing could be more meticulous. As I have not seen them wiping surfaces down after each customer but I carry hand sanitizer EVERYWHERE. Then this happened....I arrived at the shop before they opened. One lady was in front of me. By the time 10 am arrived 4 more people were in line. After they started the first lady's mani pedi, they sat me at the pedicure bowl to soak while they busied themselves with doing fills and manicures on the people that arrived AFTER me. They shared that someone was on their way in to take care of me but after waiting 20 minutes I left. Maybe they were thinking that it's quicker to do fill ins and get people out and I can soak and wait. But I firmly believe in first come first serve. That's why I arrived early. The tall lady was apologetic and I appreciated that. However my time is valuable and with a gazillion nail salons near me, I'll be trying out a new one.

This was my first time here, when I walked in I just needed a fill and they took me in about 10 minutes, which was great for the time of day. I had blocky thick nails before and I asked my nail tech Kathy if she could make them thinner. She did such an amazing job, I'm not going to anyone else. If she was able to fill my old nails and make them look this great I couldn't imagine what she could do with a brand new full set. I will be back to see KATHY, and if you want to have great nails you will request her as well.
