I don't know where Lisa M. went but it wasn't John Thomas Hair Studio. I have had excellent experiences there at reasonable prices. Even with a dye job and blow out, I have never paid anything close to what she mentioned. And, during the pandemic, the care to maintain safe health for all was stellar. Thomas has put up with my many crazy requests for styles and color and makes every 'do look fabulous. I recommend John Thomas regularly to those seeking a fashionable look at a reasonable price.
I had a cut with John recently after seeing that he is well-reviewed on Google. It did not disappoint. I hadn't had a haircut for a year because I couldn't find a good hairdresser outside NYC. I gave John all freedom to do what he thought best and he transformed my hair. I left very happy and am still happy after washing it myself. I am so glad I do not have to go to the Big Apple to get a good haircut! In addition, John is a very calm, discreet and pleasant person to be around.
I come in from PA to visit my daughter in CT and get my hair cut at John Thomas Hair Studio. If I can wait to get my hair cut until the next visit, I do. It is worth the wait. I get comments from complete strangers about my hair. He is an amazing stylist. People who know me always ask me what I did because I look 10 years younger. Call and set up an appointment. You will be thrilled. Woohoo! As good as it gets! Never better!
Hands down this is the worst hair salon I have ever been to. I give it one star only because this site makes me. When you walk in the stench of hair product makes you cringe, the person who did my hair was so slow and talked about herself the entire time. The girl who washed my hair was even slower, not because she gave me a head massage but because she kept checking herself out in the mirror. Finally I was done and when I went to pay I was horrified. $300 for 1/2 highlights, a treatment I didn't ask for and a blow out. Um...for that much shouldn't they blow my hair out for free. To boot, they don't take AMEX. To top it all off they serve drinks, I had water, in plastic cups. Take your money and hair elsewhere this hole in the wall on the Post Road sucks.
I love my new hairstyle. I have been searching for a creative hairstylist since moving here, two years ago. Thomas was able to give me exactly what I wanted. I will recommend them to all my friends.
