LANPHIER in Darien, CT

I am a french coming to visit my brother for Christmas i went to your salon on 29 of December for a blow dry, I have medium length hair, correct service and I paid 46$ and today on 31rst i went back for a blow dry and the price is 56$ without any explication so I asked what for ? And the answer was so stupid !! Because of the style or because of the hairdresser, I don't know anybody in this salon ? if it's the reason,  it will be good to ask me, I am the client and to inform me ? how come ? very disappointed about this place and service I will never recommend this place to anyone I was very angry !!  other information I forgot !! Same price for the blow dry of my mother who came with me today and she has very short hair it's a real joke !!! Not satisfied at all

I was so pleasantly surprised with the size, scale, and caliber of this spa overall. I had a massage with Steve, and cannot recommend him enough.  I have gotten massage from him over the last several years and he really is so extraordinary and a natural healer!

We used Lanphier for my daughter's wedding this weekend and they were amazing.  Two stylists came to our home and did hair for 7 girls and 2 moms...all the styles were exactly what was asked for and the stylists were very accommodating with any changes.  Totally recommend them!  And they were very reasonable when compared with other hair stylists my daughter had gotten quotes from.  Lanphier is awesome!

As many other reviews have said - gift cards here are a scam. My brother purchased a gift card as a Mother's Day gift for my sister in law... They take your money quickly when you purchase a gift card, but blame  "encryption" and "security" as rationale should you misplace it. They are condescending and unwilling to work with you, and will go so far as imply your husbands "mistress" has already used said gift card. I think their responses to customers say enough, but trust me - save your money...

Edit to respond: coming from a family that owns a small business, this is a pretty blatant example of poor bookkeeping, and even more so a way to scam customers out of money. You can very easily track who purchases a gift card, but choose not to. Maybe you can take the money you steal from your customers and invest in a better method of tracking... but then again, how else could you make money if not by stealing from customers?

Oh, and no apologies needed - I chose to get involved when I heard how HORRIBLE your business practices are. It's clear you couldn't care less about customers, beyond taking their money. If you choose to treat gift cards as "cash", perhaps you should explain that upon purchase. The fact that you don't even further proves that you choose to STEAL from your customers. Love the condescending customer service too, as a business owner you should be embarrassed as a business owner bantering on Yelp when there are SEVERAL reviews highlighting a problematic policy - again, if you weren't looking to steal from customers, you'd do something about it beyond type condescending responses online.

Very disappointed that my gift certificate was not accepted. Admittedly it was purchased years ago, however, with the pandemic, it should be understandable that there would be a delay in using it. They had just stopped accepting older gift cards a week before I came and they gave me a hard "no". If they were focused on customer service I would have thought they could have just acknowledged there was over $100 paid and perhaps at least given me 50% credit or even a discount off a future massage/service. They should not be risking their reputation for $50/$60. It's too bad because I will never go back.
