JCPenney Salon in Mishawaka, IN

I've shopped at University Park JC Pennys recently. it's easy to get in and out if you use north parking lot door. The store needs a refresh, carpets very dirty, paint drab and outdated. Outside of building very dirty and it's brick, needs power wash.  each department looked different, one perfect, some very messy guess it depends on the dept managers pride. I know they are understaffed and thats why they open an hour later than the entire mall, but we need a good place to purchase their quality products, it's too bad it's going down hill. I hope they do not close the store, this area needs a good store like JCP.

I was checking out, and the lady at the register asked if I had a rewards number. I told her I wasn't sure, so after giving her my number it showed I had no rewards. So she asked if I wanted to sign up for rewards, I said yes. After a series of questions on the screen I realized it was asking me some personal questions that would be related to signing up for a store credit card. I asked if she was signing me up for a credit card and not rewards, she said yes. I told her I did not want a credit card, and her response was "no it's okay, just finish signing up and we can put this purchase on the credit card". I then told her again I'm not doing that and I didn't ask for a credit card. Just felt shady the she was trying to make me sign up for a credit card, and then when I told her I didn't want one, she just told me to do it anyways.

I got some Jcpenney gift cards for Christmas so we came the the University Park Mall location to use the gift cards. This location has 2 levels yet they seemed to not have a lot of stuff. I was disappointed because usually I can find carts full of stuff I want but I only used $13 of my $40 on a single yellow sweater.

I find they just don't have a lot of variety of plus sized items at the reasonable price I've come expect at this store. I was really hoping to find some good pants but I just couldn't any that fit right or were my style. Hopefully I can stop by a different location to spend to rest of my cash because this JC just didn't suffice.

JCPenney's is a great place to shop. They always have what you need .Everyone that works here is always so polite.

I have bought designer drapes and blinds from Home Store and I would give this 5 stars for service, accuracy, and professionalism.  I assumed the same would be true for their ready-mades.  NEVER BUY THE READY MADES, unless you are a seamstress, handyman, or clairvoyant about this  merchandise.    JCP sent me the wrong color drapes,  I had to order new colors and rods.  I must have called the store 15 times with no answer or response.  Then I was told that I had additional curtain hooks with a new order.  The installer came and did en excellent job, but told me that I had to install cup hooks  on both sides of the doors if I wanted to go in and out to our atrium.  He never removed and disposed of the old knotty pine valence and then announuced there was a $50.00 installation fee.  I have great difficulty walking.  I said could he take all the paperwork and the big rods back to the store? He said it was after 3: p.m. and he was going home.  I needed to do the returns by myself.  My Health-aide and I took them back.  Your management needs to be aware of these problems and you have lost a loyal customer.   Beverly Arnold
