My sister and I were shopping at the Penneys in Mankato today. There was a huge problem with their pricing on racks. We found a cute summer shirt and shorts that were clearly labeled on the rack at one price. When we got to the checkout, we were quoted a significantly higher price for both items. The manager told us it was a sale price from the weekend and we were shopping at 1 pm on Monday. We walked away. I have been a Penneys customer for over 40 years. After today? Probably not. Maybe this is why so many Penney's stores are going out of business. Take the signs off the racks if they are not valid. Very disappointed!
Management is RUDE. I heard them saying some very mean things about their employees. One employee specifically was very helpful and kind, helped me check out and I was on my way out. In the process I stopped to browse at some clearance racks that I had missed, and long behold the general manager saying very harsh things about the sweet man who had just helped me. I will not be returning. The vulgar words said are things that are NOT professional in a workplace and not morally correct. People like the manager here disgust me.

This review is for the JC Penney Salon When I moved to Mankato I was looking for a salon and I asked some people for recommendations and was given VERY bad advice. Then, I took my best friend's advice - when going to a JC Penney salon, ask for the person who is the most popular/has the most training. I stumbled across the fact that this Penney's has a salon, and called and made an appointment with Patrick - I haven't gone to anyone else since! Patrick is a fun, yet consummate professional. I have at times said "I'm bored and want to get highlights... you pick colors." and knew I could trust him to make decisions based on my personality and my style that I would love (and I'm always right). He didn't like me in layers so we got rid of them, though when my hair got super long, I asked for a couple for height and he was nervous I wouldn't like it - I reassured him, "Patrick, if I don't like it, I'll grow it out!" He's definitely a vivacious and fun person, and my day is always better when I see him, but his personality may not be for some people.
