JAVIER'S HAIR SALON in Riverside, CA

I absolutely love Javiers! I always ask for Javier himself, he has a lot of experience and will gladly make recommendations for what will suit you, the haircut he suggested for me I have kept for years. I know I can ask him for any cut and trust him to make it look good. He also gives the most gorgeous blowouts that I wish I could go get every day, his assistants give wonderful blowouts as well. I have been getting my hair cut with him for about 5 years, after my mom recommended him because she has been getting her hair cut by him for over 25 years.

Last time was my final time to come here to get a haircut. My hairdresser was rude making horrible remarks about the nature of my hair. I need a haircut and was reminded of my experience with this hair stylist. I've looked up the techniques stylists use to cut hair and I followed a YouTube tutorial. I'm blown away by my own hands. It's called the butterfly technique. Will never step foot in a hair salon EVER. Treat your customers better Carl

UNRELIABLE!!! Read More... I am so sad to write this review after being his (Javier's himself) customer for three years!! I thought we had been friends, I always complemented his work and tipped him 15-20% above his asking price, but after three years, Javier the owner, did not appreciate me as a customer anymore: He canceled my appointment and rescheduled me for the following week because he has had eye procedure. I understood and happily accepted the following week appointment for me and my two sons. The following week he called me again and canceled this second appointment because he had upset stomach! My hair was in a bad shape, when I asked for the makeup appointment, he offered 7 days later, so we are 14 days delayed now! Javier did not even bother to offer an alternative solution such as: having someone else in his office to do my hair or offer an earlier appointment later on the following day. I was very disappointed and decided to take my business somewhere else. If Javier does not like me as a customer, he can tell me straight forward. Why did he paly me for two weeks? I never understood!! This attitude of his can hurt you at any time, so be careful!!

Tried to ask for blonde highlights to allow my gray hair to grow out showing less gray. Was told this was unrealistic and I was just too old to have the hair I wanted. This was from the owner. Unnecessarily rude and obviously not very well trained at his job. I went on to another stylist who made me very happy. Surprised this place stays in business.
