Hottie Hair Salon & Extensions Store in Las Vegas, NV

My review of this place is based solely on a terrible experience I had with one of the Japanese hair straightening girls at the Henderson location. I have spent two years reluctant to write a review but since I heard something really horrible the other day I felt compelled to do it to protect the public. Do not under any circumstances get your hair straightened there. I'm not talking about keratin smoothing treatments I mean the Japanese straightening. The girl that works in the Henderson store is the only one that does the straightening and she is not only in novice but is a danger to the public. I have long hair for a guy and to make a long story short she fried my hair off half of my hair fell out broken off at the roots because idiotically she uses the same technique on every client which is puts the stuff on the hair and then walks away for half an hour puts the time Ron goes get lunch talks on the cell phone comes back when the timer goes off and washes out the straightener. A real expert doesn't place a client on a timer. They stand over the hair and he do a strand test. In some customers cases if they had very fine hair the product only is on for several minutes in other people with thicker hair it can be kept on longer.

Anyway, I've been having my hair straightened since the 90s and went to the top people in Beverly Hills and never lost any hair because they did it the right way as I described above. I took a tremendous effort to write a four-page document to the owner in regards to the proper technique for Japanese straightening and the owner never replied back with a thank you or an acknowledgment that there was an error made so I basically just blew it off. Maybe it was a one off and it's been two years now and my hair was still growing out as it was burnt off right from the scalp.

Anyway fast-forward to a few days ago. The Beverly Hills technician moved to Reno unbeknownst to me and set up a hair salon. She does Japanese straightening here in Reno now. She called me yesterday and said there's a lady crying in her chair right as we speak that had just a few days earlier gone to the same hotties so-called tech and all of her hair got burnt off and she was traumatized and crying and was completely inconsolable.

What are the odds of that happening that some random lady ends up in Reno Nevada that had the same experiences I had. If I was to extrapolate that out to other clients I would imagine and have a strong suspicion that I and her are not the only ones that this has happened to.

Again, I don't write negative reviews but as a physician I feel compelled to protect the public. I was sad and angry about what happened to me but I bit my tongue and didn't say anything about it nor write a bad review but at this point after she did what she had done to this poor lady, I'm writing this review to warn you all to stay away from the salon regarding hair straightening. I will make a final comment and that is I have absolutely no idea about their other services both good and/or bad so I will not badmouth them in this respect nor give them any credence. I will say though that my singular experience with the straightening was an absolute disaster and do not make the same mistake. Go to someone that understands the technology. This girl did not even know what Yuko hair straightening was. It's the single most prominent product in Japanese straightening world. It's like someone that declares are an expert in pop music that's never heard of Britney Spears. This should have been a huge red flag to me.

Anyway in short she's a disaster and avoid her avoid the salon and avoid the Japanese straightening. Be careful with this product it will burn your hair off if not utilized properly and that comes down exclusively to the amount of time that it's left on the hair and the product that is being chosen to place on the hair in the first place. You might get a cheap product which is 20 times more caustic then the expensive products but you will pay the price for that is I did.

Been going to Brian for about 2 years now done just about everything color under the rainbow always has my hair look healthy and beautiful love to get blowouts regularly with Sheila and Karina the sweetest girls best costumer service I've ever experienced in a hair salon I would highly recommend making this your hair salon

Carmen is the best. She is excellent at coloring hair and installing extensions and matching everything. She is so nice and helpful and makes my hair look amazing

This was the worst place to ever get your hair done. My good friend is an expert in extensions and she recommended me this place. Carmen was super sweet at my first appt with her. She did my hair, and mind you she didn't even do all of it. She had people jump in and do the rest of my hair while she had another client come in and she started working on her hair, while she made another stylist wash and shampoo and DRY my hair.  Then Carmen came back and finished the extensions and did my hair. But she forgot to cut my hair since I was the last client left of the night since she said "she didn't realize my hair would take so long."  I paid over $600 dollars for coloring my extensions, moving them up, and blow drying and curling my hair. How unprofessional of someone to book an appt and then take another appt while still working on mine.
I come back two weeks later because two - three of my extensions came out & I called and spoke to a nice girl who said they'd replace them all again no problem, and they wouldn't use the hair straightener to heat the tape because that to me was the issue in the first place. That's why my extensions felt sticky and came out. I never had tape in extensions come out or feel sticky the way they do with Carmen's work. When I went in to show her my concerns. She gave me attitude, tried to gaslight me and tell me I was the one taking my extensions off, and she hurt my service dog and said my SEVICE dog was in the way. When my service dog was there to help with my panic attacks and I was about to have one since Carmen kept giving me attitude and arguing with me saying I'm wrong and she's never had anyone complain about any of her work ever. She fixed 3 of my extensions and then walked away from me and dismissed me with the worst attitude you can imagine. For a professional Hair salon that's supposed to treat you with respect and understanding, they sure are very rude, stuck up, and dismissive . I will never come here again & I will never recommend anyone to this salon. Worst hair experience ever.
