Hoover Nail and Spa in Birmingham, AL

Alright, there are no reviews so hopefully mine will go through to help whoever's reading. I usually have a go-to nail salon in hoover for acrylics but i made a last minute decision to get my nails done and thought to try here. First walking in, the shop is beautiful and looks new. I really liked the guy who initially greeted me, as he helped me pick my shape and all; however, i was sent to get my nails done by an older man who sat on the far left of the shop, named Tim. Initially, he seemed nice but the way he handled my nails were terrible. He did not ask if i wanted my nails trimmed down, just immediately began gluing the tips on so i started off a new set with mid length nails (somehow that feels wrong) and ive never experienced a drill touch my cuticles so much EVER. This was literally the most painful full set experience i ever had. My cuticles were damaged after my full set and it constantly had the skin on my fingers in pain from being cut.  Not to mention, my nails were completely UNEVEN. I sucked it up, paid, and even gave a tip because I try to avoid complaining but my nails looked horrible.. I decided to come back a 2nd time and just request a new nail tech. I was then sent to Kathy and as she begin doing my nails, she begin speaking in Vietnamese to her coworker sitting beside her about my nails. I knew they looked terrible so i assumed what was being said and both Kathy and her coworker were laughing. After discussing about my nails for the next 15 min, they call over Tim, THE GUY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE NAILS. He comes over and asks me "Where did you get your nails done". I quickly responded "YOU!" and pulled out my little card they give after theyve done your nails. Kathy laughed while Tim stood there in shock. He had the nerve to say my nails were uneven but Kathy would fix it for me. Smh, right then and there i should have received compensation!! Also, my cuticles looked so bad and damaged, Kathy offered to do a small manicure and cleaned up my cuticles... was still charged
$10 for that and my thumb cuticle was cut too deep in the process, which led to bleeding for 10 minutes. I even feel like the way Kathy handled that was unsanitary (putting acetone on the cut and dabbing with a cotton ball). Im actually disappointed i did not take a picture of my nails both times for reference but at the time, i was far from impressed and embarrassed for waisting nearly $200 on a full-set and fill in that only left me in pain and dissatisfaction. Now i will have to wait 2+ months for this fungus to grow out ( caused by a set of nails i only had on for a month!!!!) before applying a brand new set. please avoid here. It's overpriced and it's clear these workers only care about the money they're getting paid in that moment and not your nails or the health of them!!!

Just moved from FL went to my first nail salon where it took 3 hours and my nails came out like chiclets. Lost hope for AL, found Hoover nail & spa close to my house. I figured... can't be worse... let's try it. I'm SO GLAD we decided to come in. First the place is beautiful and very inviting with a few sitting lounges. Then we met someone very friendly and genuine who sat me with Tim who not only did an amazing job on fixing the chiclets but was a pleasure to talk with.(it is extremely rare to find a nail tech that is both great AND friendly!) This place has done it! Beautiful, family feel, great service, great prices and beautiful nails! We have found our salon in AL!!!!

The service was great and the atmosphere was super relaxing! Tony have a great foot massage. I went at 5:30 PM and there was no line no wait. I most definitely will be going back!

Went here for the first time & the staff was so friendly! Jamie did such a good job with my nails. 10/10 experience!

The staff was very nice, the salon was very clean, my pedicure was the best I've had in a long time, I get SNS on my fingers and they were quick and did a great job. They have enough employees so that you don't have to sit and wait forever to get a nail technician to start on you. I enjoyed my experience very much, I will certainly be back.
