Holistic Salon in Denver, CO

. When I heard of Holistic Salon  I was excited to visit and was not disappointed! Everything from the decor to my haircut felt like I had finally found my forever salon! The haircut was perfect I have been told that it's as if  " I was meant to have the fringe hairstyle ". Grace found my perfect haircut and I'm excited to try more daring styles with her!

Terrible experience with hair color. During the color the stylist got the color all over my face. To top that off she made my dark brown hair jet black.

I had to go back again where they attempted to correct their mistake by applying two treatments of Malibu. Stylist applied it to grey roots and the rest of the hair all in one sitting which was a mistake! The Malibu barely lifted the black but made my roots orange which I could not see until I got to a place where there was good light. Also the toner they were supposed to apply after Malibu never got done. When I asked male stylist if he was going to apply toner, he said no. I trusted him:( After two total fails I had zero faith in their abilities, want my money back!!!!

FYI this salon has terrible lighting. I had to pay ULTA for a toner treatment, now I'm going to have to pay a qualified salon over $300 to get rid of this black hair. Owner is refusing to refund my money. Terrible experience, terrible waste of time, huge wage of money. These stylists are complete amateurs and liars. Total scum. I want my $172 back!!

TLDR: Holistic salon does not want children in the salon at all unless the child is getting a service. They lack compassion for families and the courage to have face to face conversations.

This review is for patrons who are parents. In June 2022 we were made aware of a no kids policy. We had been bringing in our daughters when childcare fell through, schedules changed etc., instead of cancelling. I figured that cancelling last minute (not earning $) was worse than bringing in a kid. And each time, we explained and apologized. Stylist and owner present said it was ok every single time.

Because this was portrayed as a 'safety' issue, I feel compelled to state that our children have never touched a curling iron, grabbed scissors, or run around the salon disturbing other patrons. Second, It would be one thing if this were a quiet and serene environment. However, there are always hair dryers running, dogs running around, people talking etc.

Once we were informed of this policy that was on the website, we did our best to avoid possible situations.

On Friday, the original plan was for me to pick up both kids from school and take both to a follow up doctor appointment for the younger child. That did not happen. The school nurse called and our 5 yo had to be picked up early from school because of a stomachache at 2. I was already at the salon and came up with Plan B. I asked my husband to pick her up and he'd pass her off to me at 3 (his haircut appt was at 3). Unfortunately, we weren't able to connect before I had to leave to pick up younger child on time. Therefore, the 5yo was at his 30minute haircut, on the sofa, on the phone watching PBS kids.

Apparently, this was unacceptable because we received an email three days later stating they were ending the relationship. Not once did either owner have a face to face conversation with us about the issue (even though they seem to think there were verbal reminders lol).

It is incredibly cowardly and inconsiderate to have been treated this way. It's not like we want either child to be at a salon appointment. It's a last ditch resort. And getting my hair done, is one of the few luxuries I allow for myself as a working mom with two kids.

I did have our oldest get two haircuts at Holistic... the first appointment we were charged $30 for the stylist to snip the ponytail. The second, with Elizabeth, was a proper haircut and done well.

Additionally, my husband had been a client of Grace for 5/6 years and I had been a client for 4 years. They let go reliable and consistent customers.

And let's be clear, this is not a safety issue. These owners just do not want children in the salon.

Met Grace the owner and she was great at helping me find the style that would suit me. Everyone was so nice, helpful, and truly a luxurious experience! Well worth the money! You could tell that everyone there knows what they're doing and cares about their work.

Claire is amazing! Super professional and knows how to work with my thick curly hair. Their covid protocols make me feel safe and my hair always looks amazing when I leave. Will never go anywhere else in Denver. You will need to book way in advance.
