Do not go there if you have bangs. I asked for a trim "just above the brow" and Jessica completely destroyed my bangs. When I saw how short she had cut them and made a comment that they were very short she said "well you didn't say AT the brow you said ABOVE" and then added "good news is hair grows 1 inch every month". I literally couldn't believe what I was hearing. I ran out of there and noticed once at home that they were not even straight, a complete massacre. Never going back. A picture being worth a thousand words I let you admire the result.
Love this salon! I've been here several times for cuts for my curly hair and am always happy with the results no matter who cuts my hair. My last cut was from Bugg and is exactly what I asked for. Friendly atmosphere and great staff. Will definitely be back!
Got a full head of highlights from Alex last Saturday and I have to say this is in my top 3 hair salon experiences ever. She was so amazing, incredibly knowledgeable about the process, very skilled, and told me everything that was going to happen before it happened. I'm coming off of a couple bad experiences and was so down and exasperated, thinking maybe the look I wanted just wasn't possible and she delivered EXACTLY what I wanted. I feel like myself again. I was nervous to go to High Horse, it always seemed a bit intimidating but it was so nice. And the pricing was reasonable! Alex is the best.
Update: not only did I make the trek from Harlem to Williamsburg to get my hair cut for six years, after moving to Nashville in 2019, I have flown back twice to NYC specifically to have Lily cut my hair.
