Health and Style Institute in Greensboro, NC

I had a Groupon for this place and ended up getting a refund from Groupon and will NEVER go back here. I'm not sure if they had something against me when I walked in but was unwilling to work with me because I had my kids with me who are 9 and 10 and VERY well behaved. Would not allow them to sit near me but insisted on an adult to be with them while I had my hair done. Stated that it was the LAW because it was a school. I ended up leaving there and went to a school a few miles down the road and took my kids in with me and they sat nicely beside me while I spent 4 hours getting services done. I spoke with management and there is no such law that states an adult has to sit with the child in the waiting area and cannot be back in the "school" area. Policy is just that a guardian must stay inside the building while the child is getting services done. There was no waiting at this Health and Style institute the entire time we were there trying to work out a solution to the problem which was about 20 minutes and I can see why! The seemed uncaring whether they had customers or not.

I have been in many many times. Your appointment times are not respected. If your white and have an appointment they'll take a walk in over you. Don't respect your time or have the courtesy to call if a student that has an appointment with you is that hasn't shown up for class they leave you hanging. I hope that by expressing these concerns to the manager and the owner that the students will get the education that is needed to learn to respect, clienteles time and services, as opposed to just pushing students through, and that the teachers will be looked at more closely and how they're teaching. And again today I showed up 15 minutes early for my appointment at 1:30 at 2 o'clock. They were just getting someone and I said at that point I am done yes I am getting a discount on services to help someone learn how to do a craft, and I find it extremely useful in life. The management I spoke with was very respectful they were open to hearing this And I certainly hope that they step up and raise the bar for the students that they're producing for their careers.They said they had not heard this before and asked me if I still want to get my service done and I said no I am going to give up my three shampoo, cut, highlight, blow dry and style haircuts, and my three ManI Pedis to someone on the street

Nadyra is great!  She's been doing my highlights for 6 months.  Will be sad when she graduates.  Student and instructor mentoring results in a professional result!

it's an okay school, definitely hard work and they make sure they get you ready for the state board test to get your license. but it could definitely be better.

The worst pedi mani experience I have ever had. The students were loud, rude, and unprofessional. I had my two children with me, age 7 and 9, because it was my daughter's birthday. One of the students was cussing loudly at the table next to us. They scalded us with the foot bath water. No nice massage chairs here, you get a bucket and an uncomfortable chair. The students my kids got were kind and chatted with them. The one I got was the complete opposite and you could tell she did not want to be there. When she was pushing back my cuticles she gouged at my nail and damaged several of them before I pulled my hand away and told her to stop. Now they have grown out and you can see the gouge marks. She also sanded the tops of them. When I changed my polish there were little specks all over the surface that I had to buff out. She did my nails first then wouldn't assist me with pulling up my pants leg for the mani messing up my nails. Then had the nerve to act pissy because I told her to fix them. She globed so much polish on my toes that I kid you not, it took over 3 hours for them to finally dry. These are come sense things which leads me to believe she intentionally sabotaged my service. I don't know the girl whatsoever and did my best to be kind and even attempted to chat about her schooling and future plans like most clients would do to be nice. I have been to other beauty schools to get treatments but I have never had an experience this bad. I will not return.
