Head Quarters Hair Salon in New Orleans, LA

Thanks Wesley and the staff at Headquarters for getting me a last minute appointment and giving such goooood hair.  What a fun and fabulous salon, their running commentaries on people and life left me in stitches, they def. know what's what.  I can't wait to come back!

I got my hair cut here 2 years ago, and I'm FINALLY now writing a review.  When I got it cut is was the best hair cut I'd ever had, and it's STILL the best hair cut I've ever had.  I have since moved away from New Orleans, but if I had stayed, this would definitely be the place for me.

Michael cut my hair (I still remember his name, he's a very fabulous gentleman) and while it took more than 30 minutes, he was extremely thorough and wonderful to talk to.  My hair is hard to deal with because it'll show even the tiniest mistake, but michael somehow managed to hide them all.

If I'm ever back in Nola, I plan to make a stop here to get a cut.

Great place. The main reason I am not giving 5 stars is because all of the salon's 5-star reviews seem to get filtered.

Light, airy and clean salon, easy to park in the area. Very unpretentious place. My hairdresser seemed to be in a great mood for a change, he must like working here.

A welcome change after the last salon I went to,  where they *smoked* inside and stunk up my fresh hairdo.

The best places in New Orleans are delightfully imperfect, and this would be one of them. Chatty, irreverent, and very accommodating if you're nice, the staff really knows what they're doing with your hair. A friend and I popped in on a busy Labor Day weekend and they made time for us. One gentleman there trimmed my friend's shoulder length hair while his daughter gave me a short haircut and that had to be best cut I have had in years. I've back two more times (by appointment) and been just as satisfied with how skillfully she has cut my hair. She has buzzed it militarily short with a high fade. Since she hand clips the top, especially with whorls in my hair, as it grows out it doesn't look like an unkept hedge in two weeks. I don't live near the quarter, but I schlep down there when I can for a good trim and some sassy conversation. They take cash or local checks only, and appointments are recommended.
