Ernest is an artist with color and style! He takes into consideration, your features, hair growth pattern, hair texture and many other factors, when giving solicited advise! Otherwise, he will do exactly what you want! He is kind and profession! He is well worth waiting an appointment!
Just FYI, this address is not correct. The salon is now located on W. 98, in the same small strip mall as Lovie's and Asiago Cheese Cafe.
When I first moved here, I was worried about where to get a good cut and color. I shouldn't have worried; co-workers directed me to Earnest, who has done a great job! The other staff here are sweet, and they always take time to explain products and give advice (I had been using Aveda, and the equivalents they suggested have worked well).
Prices are reasonable, especially compared to other cities. The only thing that took me by surprise is that they will schedule you to leave "wet." I've never run across this anywhere else; they should know--talking to management here--that a styled head leaving the salon is their best advertising. In any case, I'd need a really, really good reason to try anyone else out here.
I loved my (MUCH NEEDED!) cut and color by Ernie at Hair Worx. He was professional but fun, and good at his craft. :) The shop was very clean, very spacious. Unlike most salons, I didn't feel like I was going to trip over or run into in-the-way furniture/chairs/equipment. Since I'm a stylist, I usually do my own coloring and trimming, but I'll definitely be going back for the big changes.
