Hair Group in Brick Township, NJ

My mother-in-law has cut my hair for over 30 years, literally saving me thousands of dollars during that time. Otherwise, it would be10 cuts a year at $20 a cut with tip, $200 a year x 30yrs = $6,000 bucks. Adds up huh? Now that she spends the winters in Florida, I have to actually pay for my own haircuts. So selfish of her. LOL Anyway, I've been going here sometimes. No complaints about the haircut, but I, like most patrons, have conversations with the haircutter, even if it's for less than 2 minutes. It would be awkward not to. I pointed out that in one day, the price of a haircut in her shop jumped 30%. I asked her if this was a Biden inflation thing, and she took offense and even defended the guy. She had no clue and didn't care ,why inflation is out of control and effecting her business. Nice or not, I look to support businesses that share my values.

Usually have no problem...advertise that they are open until 530...went there at 510, stylist says "I'm not taking anymore today". Hope the boss hears...

Okay, I've been holding off reviewing this place (or any hair salon for that matter) since it's pretty much one of the most unmanly things I can do on here, but HAIR GOES. (see what I did there? Hurr hurr.) I've been coming to Hair Group for years now, for a few reasons. One, is that they're a hop, skip, and a jump away from where I live. Two, is because they're cheap as hell, and my hairstyle isn't exactly complicated. Heck, as the years go on, there's less and less of it that anybody needs to deal with! Walking in here, I'll admit, is pretty bland. A bunch of magazines adorn an old table, in a waiting room that probably could use a bit of a cleaning. The salon itself is in a bit of disrepair, and could probably use a coat of paint or two, and maybe some new countertops for the haircutters. That being said, they always do a decent job on my buzzcut, and for $8 I really can't complain. One of the things that has me a little squicked by this place, and considering finding another, is the cleanliness of the equipment. Now, I don't know the first thing about salons or their legal rules, but in most places I've been to, I'll often see the barber spray down the trimmers and scissors with some sort of sanitizer. I don't think I've ever seen such a thing here, unless they're doing it before I get seated. I really wish they'd clean the equipment in front of people, so that I can be assured I'm not going to end up with lice from someone living in the trailer park down the street.

dirty salon - rude stylist- awful cut. the $8 barber shop is a disaster. STAY AWAY!
