Groomingdales in Mariposa, CA

First, it took two plus weeks to get my call returned to schedule a groom for my Border Collie/ McNabb, Penny. ( Groomingdale's has done her several times prior.) I make an appointment for Penny to be groomed short and have her tail trimmed down. She has long, fine hair and this cut keeps me out of the vet office for foxtails and other things that get lost in her hair. So I wait two weeks more for the appointment and my friend Bob drops her off. The groomer is 20 minutes late to show and looks like she just fell out of bed, which she confessed was the circumstance. Says Penny will be ready at 11:00 AM. Bob goes to pick her up and she is not ready. As he waits for the dog inside the shop he observes the place is FILTHY! He hears her screaming at a dog, which I think is my soft hearted Penny. WHen the dog comes out she has had a set of clippers waved over her back & her head combed out. NO SHORT TRIM PLUS!!!! She states the dog will not allow her to clip the back so 2/3rds of the dog is ungroomed and matted, Add another no-no that when home, I see she still has burrs and stickers under her armpits!!! Plus the dog is scared shitless from bad treatment. I have groomed this dog and clipped her in the past. My job isn't pretty but functional. She is not aggressive but shy & sensitive. A loud shout is all it takes to make her uneasy. Been like this since I got her at 8 weeks. So in SUMMARY: Poor Service, Filthy Shop, Poor work ethic and worse offense of all shouting at an animal while it is either caged or being worked on. In closing, I would not take a DEAD ANIMAL to this shop, We have much better people around us that care about what they do.

Groomingdales and Nori-Anne are amazing! My dogs are always so happy to see her, and that makes me very happy because it's so important for your dogs to trust the groomer. She also does boarding which my dogs have done twice with her. They always come back so happy and it's a big piece of mind knowing that my dogs are in good, safe hands. This is the only place I'll take my girls. Highly recommend Groomingdales!

I am so pleased at the job groomingdales did on my collie & my sheltie. My blue boy has a huge coat that most groomers hate. Hes a ranch dog so i asked her to get creative in a style that would help keep his coat burr free. Last year i shaved him, but was hoping not to do it again...she did it! His new sexy cut is awesome! Also my little sheltie was recovering from an almost life threatening injury and the vet had shaved her front half. After her trip to groomingdales she looks like a cute little stuffed dog! Love these golks!

Our Lhasa has been twice and we are very happy. He got a cute haircut the first time and a bath and nail trim the second time. The lady was really nice, and the price was good.
