I visited Great Clips for a simple trim and blow dry. This would be my final trim prior to a 12 inch hair donation I was intending to give in June. However, I left the salon with over three and a half inches trimmed off and an uneven cut on each side, which I only noticed when my partner pointed it out. Despite my disappointment, I called the salon and spoke with Taylor, the manager, who was helpful but insisted I come in person for a refund. After I contacted Taylor at the Great Clips I did contact corporate to verify if I would need to go in person to get a refund. Upon contacting corporate, I was dismayed by the lack of sympathy or apology for the botched haircut. Corporate simply reiterated that I needed to return to the store for a refund--which is fine. But an apology for mg experience would have been nice. I was so upset and didn't want to embarrass the stylist in front of her peers so I had my boyfriend go into the store on my behalf for a refund. When my boyfriend went to the store on my behalf, he was initially told that no one could issue the refund, and after showing pictures of the haircut, he finally received it. However, the stylists were unable to refund the tip properly, requiring him to ask for cash back. While Taylor provided commendable customer service, my experience overall was deeply disappointing. I lost six inches of hair and had to visit another salon to correct the cut, delaying my donation by another year. If Great Clips stylists are not comfortable with simple trims, they should refrain from performing them. I was upfront about my desires and reasons for the haircut, yet the outcome was far from satisfactory. Thank you, Taylor, for your efforts, but there is room for improvement for everyone else at Great Clips.
Everyone has good days and bad days. I just happened to show up on a bad day. I needed a haircut before a date. I asked for a "high fade." I don't recall the stylist's name, but she was doing a fair job.... Right up until the point where she used a 1 guard. She may as well have shaved my head, NOT the look I wanted. I kid you not, the woman looked at me, claimed that I'd told her that I wanted a 1 guard for my head, and then said verbatim "that's your fault, not mine." A refund would have gone a long way, but accusing ME of being the reason I look stupid works too, I guess. Hair grows back and my dignity will recover. What I will NOT do is visit this location again.
Never have I experienced a problem at this location. People should control their children when entering and visiting a business. I've never seen kids out of hand and that includes mentally disabled children and I've never witnessed an employee "yelling" at a child. There is a legal doctrine known as premises liability and also negligence, which I'm sure a parent of a wandering child may attempt to use via a Shyster to earn some pocket change in an event that a child or other customer is injured while on the premises. I would place a friendly reminder in the form of signage on the premises for parents to control or monitor their children. Good luck in being awarded a plaintiffs verdict.
Have you ever been to a place where you felt repeatedly unwelcome by a certain individual? Welcome to Ms Sara at Great Clips on BelAir Rd ( next to Safeway in Perry Hall)! The first time we encountered her she yelled at my children for being loud/ laughing while waiting. The second time, I allowed her to cut my son's hair! My mistake. He was 5, and during the haircut she yelled if you move again.... I will surely CUT you. I removed him from the chair and had the rest of his hair cut at the spa on the Avenue. After the second haircut, I informed local management of her behavior! Tonight, I knew, from prior experience to avoid her, but while Mrs. Lynn was cutting my one son's hair she yelled for my other son to stop running around the store. He was NOT running around the store! He was walking in wide steps from one salon chair pad to the other on the side of the salon where no one was cutting hair. She DISLIKES young children and after multiple encounters I would caution Moms to avoid her and potentially the entire BelAir Rd Great Clips. I can not give enough negative feedback or express in words how poorly she has treated both of my young boys over the past few months. I'm going to consult with a lawyer, regarding this interaction.
This place is horrible for customer service. I cannot tell you about the cuts because I got tired of waiting. Zero sense of urgency, just a bunch of middle aged women gossiping about this and that. No thanks. What a waste of time.
