Gioacchino's Unisex Salon in Irwin, PA

Have been going to this salon for over 10 years. Have always been treated with respect and Jen, my stylist, is very patient and always lets me know if what I want to do with my hair will work with my type of hair. They always try to accommodate my busy schedule. Highly recommend this salon.

I had been going here for about 10 years and never had a bad experience until my hair stylist left the salon. I tried calling a few months later to make an appointment, knowing that she was no longer there. I asked for a few of the other stylists and the receptionist informed me that none of them were taking new clients. The only option she gave me was a stylist who always seems to have a really bad attitude. She always had a lot of open appointments, which I take as a bad sign, and she had done a poor job on my haircut once in the past. I asked for a Saturday appointment because I work in Pittsburgh and get home late in the evenings. The receptionist continued to insist I come in after work during the week and ended up giving me one of the last appointments of the night. I figured I would give the stylist another chance. Unsurprisingly, the stylist was in a really bad mood, acted very impolitely, and did a terrible job with my hair. It's a shame because I really enjoyed going here and there are several amazing stylists at the salon, they just do not take any new clients.

I took my 9 year old for a hair cut. Jen, the manager was very rude to him. She had no patience and kept manly telling him to sit still. At one point she even made a comment that she was going to lose a piece of her finger. I have had his haircut a million times and I have never had anyone have a problem with him. When she was done, the haircut was AWFUL! She did not ask if it was okay, she was too busy running out the door to smoke a cigarette with her friend. We had to take him to get a haircut elsewhere that evening. It was that bad that it couldn't wait til the next day. Now, I have had her cut my hair before and while she always did a good job, she is moody and won't talk to you half the time. Very unprofessional. Can't understand why she is the manager. SHe just lost 6 customers.
