I moved to Metuchen a few months ago and needed to find a new salon. I decided to try George's Salon because of the decent reviews and reasonable pricing. George was fantastic! I have postpartum hair and was a little nervous to try color with someone new. George spent a lot of time talking with me and understanding what I was looking to do. He provided his recommendations, took time to listen and did not try to upsell me into something that wouldn't be good for my hair. He was a breath of fresh air! I am so happy with the outcome. The color was perfect and the haircut was great too. I believe I will stay with George for as long as I live here!
George's Salon is a bright, clean and friendly salon. George, the owner, has been there about 12 years, and is a very welcoming business owner and active member of the Metuchen community. Suky, my hairdresser, is an excellent stylist and colorist. She worked in NYC salons for 15 years before heading out to the NJ suburbs. She brought her expertise with her and remains current in her haircutting, styling and coloring. Suky is professional, friendly and listens to what her clients prefer, always delivering a picture-worthy finished product! Suky is the best!
Terrible service. I booked an appointment for a balayage, hair cut and blow out. Looks like they over booked because the owner took several clients while trying to work on my hair and made me wait. The color was completely different than what I wanted and when I was displeased he became very defensive. He didn't even have time for a cut but it was not like I wanted to spend any more time there. Paid $182 just to go to another salon the next day to have it fixed. The person who fixed my hair was so confused and told me that what I got was not a balayage and that the application was very messy and unprofessional. George gave a good haircut. The pricing is a bit high for the quality of the cut. I've paid 65 dollars 18 years ago with a Regular stylist of mine. But the haircuts were with precision very good cuts. I was not overly excited about my cut at this salon, However I was not totally disappointed either.
