If you are looking for a good place to get a manicure...DONT GO TO GEMS!!! I went in for a Gel manicure which should last 3 weeks, it only lasted 3 days and all peeled off. The girl I had didn't do anything to my nails, no treatments at all, pretty much if I had stayed home and painted my own nails it would have been the same experience, there was nothing special done, no cleaning of my nails or trimming, not even hand lotion at the end. So it wasn't a manicure it was a nail painting. I had a gel manicure for the 1st time on my recent trip to Long Island, NY and you would think it would be expensive up there, wrong I paid less money and this is what I got from the NY salon. Gel manicure, cleaned, trimmed, files nails, did my cuticles, gel nail polish (that lasted 3 weeks), paraffin hand bath, hand lotion and arm and had massage, and a free back massage. So really compare and contrast there was no comparing these two places. when I spend money on something like that I want it to be special and relaxing. I wanted to take my sister out for a manicure that was close to where I live but I will not be going there again. If you are only going to paint nails, don't call it a manicure and you should charge WAY less money for it. Very disappointed.
