Garage Cuts Salon in Staten Island, NY

Just got my hair cut by Denice, I love it! I'm always pretty nervous before getting my hair cut, I have long hair and am pretty protective of it lol. She was careful not to cut too much but knew exactly what I needed and always asked before she did anything to make sure it was exactly what I wanted! She definitely knows her stuff. The environment is clean, professional, and friendly! I got an amazing deal on Groupon for a deep conditioning and cut to test this place out, so glad I did.

After about four months getting Balayage highlights that cost me $200, I barely have any highlights left and my hair is half orange half black (original color), as if there is straight line down horizontally, which is exactly what I had before and wanted to fix by adding highlights starting at the top of my head. At first, I was upset because the color was extremely light and nearly blonde, with some orange looking colors (which I specifically said I wanted to avoid and was charged extra for toner at the end which I was not told about), after some time it faded to the lighter brown I wanted, and now it is almost gone. Definitely a great waste of money.

Would not recommend... ever! I treated myself to a Groupon for a full color, full head of highlights and blow out.. I brought in a picture of what I wanted and I left looking like a clown. When I expressed my concern for how bright my hair was, the stylist told me to wait a few days and it will tone done... I wanted a deep red and I left with a lipstick red!!! Well, in a WEEK all the color was faded out and turned PINK!!! I also noticed she missed dying many spots in the back!! (see picture). She also told me she "had" to charge for a toner because I needed it and with groupon the salon only gets half of what the customer pays for it so all the work she put in to doing my hair and she wasn't making any money for the salon. She was distracted and was on her phone. When I express my concern again, she told me to reach out in a few day and she'll fix it. Well, I did reach out a week later and she never responded... I had to go to a different salon to fix this mess!!! VERY disappointed!!! Just stay away from this place.

Denise did a very good job on my hair, just the perfect color and layered haircut I have wanted. She's very professional, she tells you the perfect color that would go with your skin. Place is very nice and clean, very friendly staff too. Thank you very much Denise...I will surely be back
