Salon max spa inc in Staten Island, NY

Went here to get a gel mani and pedi. I was the only customer in the store. They told me to go for a pedicure first, so I sat on the chair and as the lady was doing my pedicure, another lady came along and decided to do my gel manicure while I was getting the pedicure done "so it can be faster this way". She had the gel manicure machine on my lap the whole time. It was a far from relaxing experience. The next day, the color on my toes chipped. When my nails grew back there was a very visible indentation on my nail plate from the gel manicure and the new nail. Very disappointed. Will not be returning again.

If I could give NO STARS I would!! Disgusted with the service and professionalism here as there is none! My mother wasn't treat nicely at all. Made an appointment showed up and literally 15 minutes later a van full of employees strolled out and began laughing at her. No apologies for being late. Why book an appointment when no one is even there? Not only that what if it was an important occasion and she ran late for it? So many people are upset with his place and we used to like to come here. But clearly we see why. Not to mention years ago they burnt my hair years ago and the woman who blew my hair out pulled on my scalp so hard. I'm so glad I changed places I know go to an amazing place on Amboy road where they are professional, catering, and very on top of their appointments. I would absolutely reconsider going to this place and check out others to save yourself the disappointment.

The guy Jay does an excellent job with blow out / flat iron ... NEVER EVER let the "girl" stylist do your hair. If Jay isn't there .... run back to your car. If you need hair color and "Amy" isn't there to mix it ... RUN back to your car!! PS -- don't be fooled. They understand and speak English VERY well. Try disputing a price and see for yourself ...

Price is good for Staten Island. I got a mani and pedi for $22. I know red is a color that can be hard to paint perfectly on nails, but that is why I go to pay someone to do it as perfect as possible--to do it a lot better than me. The shaping of the nail looks off with some fingers. My left fingers got the less better manicure than my right fingers. My right toe nails, however, got a better polish job than my left toes. Filing and the cuticle nipping on certain fingers could have been better. The ladies who did my mani and pedi were nice and we conversed quite a bit. No skin was cut so no bleeding which is always a good thing. I don't know if I will come back here. I'm indifferent about this place. I usually go to Manhattan to get my nails done, despite the high costs. I wanted to save some money on manis and pedis, but my service here has shown me it's better to pay more if you know you'll get the service you want.

They are horrible here. I make an appointment for my hair and when I show up they have 3 before me. I flip out and am told he no longer takes appointments. Fast fwd I call again to see if jAy is in on wed. They say yes would you like to make an appointment? I said ok, but I thought he doesn't do appointments. Here I am sitting since 1pm (it's now 140) and he had four before me. Never again!
