Horrible sew in experience. I took it out as soon as I got home. Waste of money and time.
I made an appointment via the website, as per their instructions, for the week of Sept 17, 2023. Confirmation was received via text. Enroute, I called to say I was a few minutes away and spoke with their answering service. I arrived five minutes past the appointment time of 11:00am to find both the front and side doors locked. No movement or lights inside. No one in the parking lot. I called the answering service; relayed the shop was not open. I left a message that they could contact me to reschedule. Five days later and still no response. On top of this, Gaby's Hair Spa requires a credit card to set appointments. I will have to ensure no charges were made to my credit card and possibly change my account. I do not recommend Gaby's Hair Spa on Rosemont Avenue in Frederick.
went in for a silk press. phyllis is nice but i know what a silk press should be and this wasn't it. it's greasy and slicked down, unmoving, and its only saving grace is that it's straight. going from a top-professional stylist to this experience has just shown me that i need to stick with who and what i know. still tipped, of course, because that's honest labor but won't be going back for a silk press.
I enjoyed my blow-out. The staff is knowledgeable in black hair care. The shop was clean and everyone had their masks on.
Love this place they do a great job and the woman that takes care of my daughters hair is so sweet like a grandmother to her.
