Carly gave me my first professional haircut in 3(!) years and I could not have been happier with the experience! Not only is she incredibly personable and easy to talk to, but she also had unmatched patience, insight, and intuition with my long and thick hair. I've gotten so many compliments on my cut and will definitely become a regular. I left with the silkiest, smoothest, & most manageable hair I think I've ever had. Additionally, the salon has a beautiful interior so it was honestly just a lovely place to hang out. Looking forward to my next visit!
Went for a blond highlight, wasn't happy. I politely asked the stylist (the one who specializes in extensions) if could come back in for her to fix some of the obvious brassy color because the hair didn't lift (lighten) enough. She agreed to see me again to fix it. But when I arrived she was curt, and made sure to let me know that i wouldn't get more than 30 minutes of her time as she was busy. Two hours later, and with some incredibly awkward silence, I left with wet hair and only part of the issue fixed. I thought to myself maybe it's just this stylist- we don't click. I'll go back to the first one who I thought was great (and much harder to book in with). The actual master stylist, who knows what she's doing. HOWEVER, when I tried to book back in with the master stylist, the salon owner Ashley called with me and advised that I wasn't welcome back into her salon. No joke!! She told me to go see another stylist at a different salon who would serve my blond requirements much better. Don't waste your money here. They will shut down on their own soon enough. Their attitudes are atrocious, so incredibly overpriced. I've never felt less welcome at a salon.
If you want to be bullied into ONLY going to fringe collective and giving up rights to color, extensions etc from any other salon then go to fringe. If you would however like to be treated with respect and consideration STAY AWAY. I have never posted a review on Yelp before but felt it necessary to share how rude Ashley, the owner, is and how there are so many other salons in Charlottesville that you can choose from that offer all the same services for a fraction of the price and make you feel valued and respected.
I've had a couple great appointments there, good hair colorist, nice environment. Today I missed my appointment and they charged me $230.00. How could a salon have this policy and continue to keep clientele? I'm not going back, that's for sure.
Ashley and the collective hair stylist at Fringe are fantastic! I recently moved across country and was in dire need of a stylist--a colleague recommended Ashley and I am so glad they did! I've had two appointments so far and each time the salon was so friendly, clean and safe, as well as just a lovely place to spend a few hours. Ashley has brought my hair to such great shape and color--she heard my concerns and made corrections to my color that were beyond what I could've imagined--I am so thrilled! I have a new salon and I can't be happier! *They are very observant of Covid precautions
