I was referred to Amy Sokal by a friend who's hair always looks great and I was not disappointed. My experience was by far, the best I've ever had. The overall vibe from Amy was relaxing to me while she was on fire. Working with excellent product knowledge, a superior colorist, Amy gave me a top notch, very flattering cut. Amy had to work with some long long overdue Covid hair that needed color correction, an updated style and on my budget. I left looking like a movie star and will follow her anywhere for her intuitive nature, professional but friendly magnetism. I'm 55 and this is the first time I've ever felt like I wouldn't go to any other stylist. I feel like going out to flirt I'm so happy. Amy Sokal, your the best . First time and forever client. Flow Salon is like a spa getaway. It is set in a private home with a comfortable and welcoming ambience. I am always offered tea or water and it is a treat to sit back, close my eyes, listen to the music, engage in conversation with the stylist if I so choose, or read a magazine, and enjoy the pampering. Andrea is an artist and I trust her to do what I ask and also use her own talent and creativity in cutting and coloring my hair. Suzanne is also a fabulous stylist and the go to for my teenage daughters. They will not let anyone else cut their hair. I highly recommend!

I met Emily through my job and I could not be more thankful.  I just recently moved to Durham from California and was nervous to have to find a new stylist.

Emily did not disappoint, and I was not easy considering I went in asking for a side shave and an undercut!

Not only did Emily do an AMAZING job on my hair, but I have to say it was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a stylist.  We already had a rapport due to my having already met her, but my haircut today was like hanging out with an old friend who happens to just make you look way better than you did when you came in.

This salon in general is amazing.  It is a little house where each room has been set up for each stylist, and it is so cozy and inviting that it makes the experience that much better.

I also have to say that Emily's prices are so fair it is almost unfathomable (then again California is on the expensive side of...well, everything).  She even gave me 20% off because it was my first time.  For the cut, wash, style, blow dry, I walked out having spent less than $50 and in my opinion for as amazing as I looked and felt, that was a total steal.

Emily gave me some great tips on how to take better care of my hair between my appointments and was in no way pushy about anything she did or anything we talked about.  She made me feel so at ease considering I was SO nervous to get this haircut, and I can honestly say there's no way I will ever leave her, she's got me for life!

I highly recommend Flow & Emily in particular!  You won't regret it.

Emily is a very, very talented colorist and her cuts are great as well. From just a subtle change to a dramatic transformation, there is no color she has done on my hair that hasn't turned out gorgeous and even better than I was envisioning. She recently took me from a dark brown to dirty blonde that looks beautiful and natural and resulted in no discernible damage. She uses very gentle, natural and holistic hair products, which is a major plus. I found Emily at her previous salon right after moving from Washington, DC almost a year ago and am so glad I did! I've now followed her to Flow, which is a very comfortable and serene salon with lots of cute little decorative touches. Its peaceful environment meshes well with Emily's friendly and calm personality. Without hesitation, I would recommend Emily to anyone!

Andrea's been cutting my hair for more than 15 years, and I can truly say I have NEVER had a bad cut. I get so many complements on my hair.
Her salon is set up in an adorable bungalow house. Each stylist has her own room. It's so private and cozy.
Will never go anywhere else!
