Fantastic Sams Cut & Color in Woodbury, MN

. hostile work environment. poor communication. horrible customer service. . . . . . .

This was my first time at this location. I had an appointment with Emily Jo (because online forces you to choose a stylist when scheduling an appointment online). I would never select her again. I am a male with a pronounced widow's peak. I described how my hair is usually cut, and showed a few trouble areas that I generally have to point out. Each time I would express concern about the cut I was getting, Emily said it was fine and would just move on to a different part of my head. I was only in the chair for 8-10 minutes before she said she was done. She asked how I was feeling about it, and I said, "Honestly, I am not loving this at all." I showed her where I had problems (the length on top, the sides are not clean, and the fade from sides to top is completely choppy and uneven). Her response to my statement was..."Oh, okay...I'll just go ahead and clean up the sides - completely disregarding me, and around my ears is still a mess (My wife commented that she'll have to fix it). When I said a second time that I wasn't happy, and that the top was uneven and would never fall the way she said it would, she just said she could wet it down and style it....Not what I wanted at all. I wasn't asking for her to style it, I was asking for her to cut more and fix it. At this point I was frustrated, and instead of trying to argue about why I felt we should bring the length down or clean it up, I internally realized I'll just have to get it fixed with someone else. So, when she asked me again if it was okay, I just said, "Whatever, it's fine," and I left. Now I'm going to pay for two haircuts. I generally don't write reviews. I usually believe people try their best, and I don't get upset when I get a budget haircut with a few flaws. This wasn't a few flaws, and Emily Jo did not care to help me fix it. This was an incredibly frustrating experience. I would like to make sure it's clear that this is not my view of Fantastic Sam's as a whole - only the experience I had with this stylist. I've had many good cuts from FS at other locations, but this one was unacceptable, and I'm upset.

Friday evening I went to this place for a simple haircut. The person that cut my hair cut chunks out of my bangs, both sides of my hair and the back was all chopped up. I didn't notice any of these things until I got home later as the person only showed me the back of my hair. I couldn't sleep at all that night because all I could think about is that the only way to fix it would be to shave my head. Saturday morning I went to Spalon Montage and they told me they could fix it. I went back to this terrible place to get my money back. The person that I was to was rude...she was even rude to the person in front of me. I asked for name of the person that cut my hair and was told that she would not give it to me. I explained that I would like the name so when I call the manager I could give it to her, yet she still wouldn't give it to me. She gave me the business card of the manager. I went to my car, looked at the card and went back inside. I asked if this was the store's phone number and she said yes. I asked when the manager would be back and she then tells me the manager is out for two weeks on maternity leave and she is currently the manager...this would have been nice to know when she gave me the card. I went back to Spalon for my appt with Matt. He was great! He was able to clean up the cut; I need to go back in 4 weeks so he can see where my bangs are at and I need to wait 12 weeks before I can get another haircut. Spalon so very kind to me; the didn't charge me for the haircut which brought me to tears. I will be reaching out to the District Manager...all I wanted was my money back and a sincere apology...got my money back but no apology but rather an unprofessional "temporary" manager/employee.

Not impressed. I went in for a head shave. Shave it to a 4. I am a woman, but it should be pretty easy right? I guess not. The back like tips of triangles alonG my neck. And the side burns were really uneven. Plus one was triangle shaped and the other square. Went to sports clips and they fixed it.

I got my hair cut here a few months ago - loved the head massage that came with the cut. My hair cut was great because I felt it wasn't hard keep up everyday - nice for busy mom on the go.
