Walked in today. Place was empty. 1 blond with black roots sitting in stylist chair playing with her phone. I waited 3 minutes and said excuse me, any work here. She didn't even look up. I left went next door got lil Caesars and sat in car for about 5 more minutes. Then noticed her walking around shop doing nothing. What a waste of a business. Never will do any fantastic sams again. Hopefully they'll go out of business and some other people who want to provide a needed service can use that spot in the shopping center.
Came in for a haircut to get some length off of my hair. Hair was washed and water was splashed all over my face. The lady had to wipe my face off at least three separate times. I said I wanted some of the length off my hair and indicated to the upper chest area. Without warning, the hairdresser grabbed my hair in a ponytail behind my back where I couldn't see and said, "don't freak out" and chopped off about 6+ inches. By then it was too late, my hair was at my collarbone in length. This and the "trim" took all of 5 minutes to complete. It took me longer to pay and for the lady to call the credit card processing company than for my entire haircut. The lady was turning off all of the lights and music and seemed to rush me out at 6pm and said they were closing early. I am so upset as I only wanted a little bit of my length removed and now I have to figure out how to navigate short hair. Please do not go to this location - I don't want this to happen to anyone else.
Extremely bad experience with last visit at this place . I reached there at 6:45 since location closes at 7 pm. I was first asked to pay since they had to close counter. That's not good gesture , If Someone is coming in before closure time , then you need to treat customer in a same manner . I was more disappointed because lady who did my hair was in hurry to close I guess and was rushing all the time during hair cut. She even finished my hairs in 10 minutes . If you know you are going to finish before close time then why to ask to pay before . Also she refused to honor regular Tuesday promotion from their website with reason it's new owner and they don't honor coupons. I did not see that mentioned anywhere. Even while writing this review I checked for this deal and I can see it's $11.99 for Tuesday while I had to pay $20.
I didn't have time to make a hair appointment at my usual salon, so I decided to take a risk and try Fantastic Sams. The staff was friendly and the wait was minimal, and while my haircut was decent for a great price, it was not what I asked to have done. I asked the stylist to simply trim my bangs and ends approximately a half inch. No layering or anything fancy, just enough to tidy it up. She noted some split ends and asked, "How about I take one inch off?" and I agreed. Apparently she isn't sure how large an inch is, because her very first snip was more than three inches. My heart sank, but there was nothing I could do at that point. She went around my head and when she spun me back to face the mirror the left and right sides of my hair were uneven by nearly an inch and a half. It kept getting shorter and shorter as she tried to even it out, so while I walked in with hair past my shoulders I walked out with a long bob. I reiterate that it turned out fine and I got lots of compliments, but I did not agree to getting a year's worth of hair growth cut off.
I went last year and can't remember the name of the stylist, who colored my hair, but she was AMAZING. Should have had her do it this go around, but I went recently for a cut/color/full highlights w/ a Groupon ($70). It took 3 hours. (done by stylist Debbie) I thought it has to look great this many foils, 3 hours of work? I was wrong. The cut was great, but the color was not close to the roots and in the back the roots got bigger. Underneath my scalp you could see roots and behind my ears. I paid a $20 tip b/c of the work, and felt bad, but I decided I paid for a service I called back and asked if she could fix it. Many people saw my hair and said it looked horrible. When I went back she told me you can't go to the roots it would damage my scalp. I have had my hair colored/highlighted about 50 times in my life. It has always looked amazing and to the scalp, and it was even throughout. She just shouldn't do highlights. So she did an all over color. I picked out a lighter color blonde. It came out orange/yellow. I was there 3 hours again. It's a great place to go, just don't go to Debbie, ask for another stylist. I have to be honest. Paying $90 for a color it should be done right.
