CRISTINA GOTTILLA is the owner of Family Hair Design & Barber. Her salon has been in business since February 5, 2003. She is the source of the immoral and unethical attitudes of the barber and the three hairdressers that work in the salon. Cristina is the culprit. She consistently does what she wants to do with your hair verses what the customer has clearly requested. The mindset that she promotes at her salon, amongst her staff, is to have the attitude that they are doing the customers a favor. Cristina Gottilla conscientiously put an easy liner, that is designed to be used to utility drawers and cabinets, in my hair when she sewed the weave into my hair which caused me to develop a bald spot in the top of my head. When she put the weave in my hair, she agreed to give me the hair style that I requested which required all my hair to be covered up. But, she never had no intention in giving me the weave hair style that I showed up her weeks before my hair appointment and the day of my appointment. She verbally told me she would give me the exact weave style that I selected , but she lied . And, made no attempt to give me the simple weave hair style that I requested. Also, she purposely cut my hair when she took the weave out. She caused a scene in the salon talking all loud and lying saying that I have alopecia hair loss when I do not. I did go to a Dermatologist this week. I was informed that my insurance company would not pay for medication to get my hair to grow back if it was not specified in my medical record that I have alopecia. So, it was a catch 22 situation. To address the ball spot that developed in the crown of my head because of the way Cristina Gottilla put the weave into my hair, the doctor had to write me a prescription for a drug that his design to treat hair loss. For 8 months, I spent a considerable amount of money and time getting my hair back to healthy long state. Cristina Gottilla put a weave in my hair in January 2024 and my hair felled out. Now, I am back to square one. I had numerous problems with her. She does not like to do a customer's hair the way they are instructing her to do their hair. Love this place. Truly a family salon, it is quiet and never boisterous- yet always with a steady stream of customers. It's the place to go if you want a calm and relaxing salon experience. Nicole is the best. She's great with natural hair and has a knack for strangling without pain. Usually my husband and I come in needing the works and we're in and out within 2.5 hours. Last time, I got medium sized two stand twists and with a touch up around my edges, they lasted for 6 weeks.

I've been getting my haircut here for close to 10 years and I can't complain! Mr.Rory always does a great job, I highly recommend.

I'm so glad I walked into this salon almost 2 years ago. Cristina (the owner) is very professional and always does wonders to my hair. She is very reasonably priced and gets me in for appointments very quickly, which I really appreciate as a person who has a difficult time pre-planning weeks ahead. The salon is clean and they also have a barber and someone who mostly focuses on braids. They also do a great job. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

This place only gets one star because the hair stylist nicely took me on without an appointment. Mind you that I only went in though to check the place out & to get an estimate on how much it would be to get my roots touched up and a few highlights. My roots were a dark brown-natural black. I think she put the highlight mixture on my roots , as you can see from the pictures. I paid her the $90 she asked for AND tipped her $20 because she took me immediately. Now I know why. Unfortunately, I didn't see my roots until I got home. On top of that, she scrubbed my scalp with her fingernails of which I had to take Aleve later for the pain.
