ESSENCE Hair, Skin & Body in Evergreen, CO

I recently moved to Evergreen from the east coast and was overdue for a haircut, plus I needed to restyle for a new climate. I did not bring any photos to my appointment with Dang because I wasn't sure what style would work, and I'm growing out color to return to my natural hair color. Those are big challenges for any stylist. That said I didn't get the feel that the stylist was at all focused on what I was asking for, and I walked out with a cut that did not come together at all. It did not suit my lifestyle preferences that I shared with her of a regular swimmer who needed a "scrunch and go" style, nor did the style reflect a move from humidity to cold, dry air. My other hesitation about the salon were the multiple messages about their cancellation policy when I initially booked the appointment. Nothing wrong with this, but that was my introduction to the business and it did not give me an upbeat feel. Today I had my hair recut at another salon (for half the price) and I'm a happy camper once again.

Beautiful location, very nice people, skilled colorists. I highly recommend this salon if you don't mind spending extra for the experience. One thing: Don't buy the Oliplex hype they promote for a profit. Check out what has happened to this Santa Barbara-based company's stock value and look into what well-know industry experts and scientists are finally saying about this ineffective and overpriced product. Stand up the the know-it-all stylists everywhere and don't waste your money on Oliplex. Be informed and don't rely on a cosmetologist for the best, most up-to-date and correct info, in every case.

A few weeks before traveling to Evergreen for an area wedding I had tried to book a blowout appointment at at least different 3 salons that either never called or emailed me back. Thank goodness I found Essence! Very friendly appointment staff booked me a couple of weeks out at a perfect time and I was fortunate to have stylist Dang do my hair so beautifully...I highly recommend this hair salon to anyone traveling to Evergreen! Clean, professional, and most of all friendly.

I saw somewhere on their site that this is a relaxing getaway, but I didn't experience that at all. Loud hair dyers right next to the door so the first thing you hear is noise. The waiting area was cramped with only 3 people because there's so much product taking up space. The skin service I received was fine, but there's not much relaxation to be found here.

I recently moved to Evergreen and have found my salon! I tried another salon before Essence and am so glad I found this gem. The salon is friendly, affordable and meticulous. Dang was my stylist and I asked her to suggest a color. My cut and color turned out great. I am getting compliments from just about everyone I see (I got a noticeably different color- for the first time in my life). I highly recommend this salon. Thank you Essence, I love my new hair!
