DP Nails Spa in Holly Springs, NC

I was pretty disappointed with my experience at DP. I was in Holly Springs for a wedding and wanted to get my nails done before the big day, and was glad to see the salon was close to my hotel. I was able to do a walk-in appointment as I don't think you can book same-day appointments on their website. When I arrived, they were able to take me in right away, which was appreciated. I noted that the whole rack of regular polishes was covered in what looked like sawdust.

My pedicure was generally ok; I had hoped the tech would have done more to exfoliate and deal with calluses but it was done well enough. I noticed that some of my toes had excess top coat on so the skin around my toenails were also painted. The chair was comfy though and I appreciated the massage.

When we transferred to the manicure desk, I noticed it was also covered in that same sawdust, which I realized was probably nail shavings. The manicure started out fine; the tech adjusted the nail shape after my feedback. Once he got to painting the nails, there was a lot of excess on my fingers that I had to ask him to clear up later. The main thing was that when he finished, I asked him how long I needed to stay for my nails to dry. He said an hour and then laughed like he made a joke, then followed up by saying 15 minutes. I set a timer on my watch and sat in front of the fan. After about 5 minutes, he came back and sprayed my nails to help them set. I asked him again how long I should sit and he said 5 more minutes. I reset my watch. After about 5 minutes, I checked my nails and they were still wet. One was somehow already messed up despite me being very careful about touching anything (and it wasn't the hand that touched the watch), and the ones I lightly touched shifted. I was able to flag the tech and ask him to fix them and he was exasperated with me, saying something like "I told you not to mess up my nails." He had a bunch of angry sighs and fixed them; a lot more inexpertly applied polish/top coat. Once he finished again, I asked how long I needed to sit and he again said an hour, this time more forcefully, then said 15 minutes. I set an alarm for 15 minutes and ended up leaving closer to 30 minutes later; they were still not dry. I even had to have my partner come to the salon to help me put my shoes on to make sure they didn't get messed up.

More than an hour later, and they were still not dry. I couldn't even do something as simple as pull my pants up without the polish shifting down off the nail. The tech also didn't wrap my toes to go back in my shoes and they got messed up too. I really hate looking down and seeing these textured nails that I paid good money for.

Oh I can't forget that a cockroach crawled past my hand as I sat at the table waiting for my nails to dry and I saw another one crawling on the floor next to my table.

If I were local I would not return.

Mimi is wonderful. She does a very good job on my nails every time. She also gave the best pedicure.

Been going here for almost 4 years now, and today had my first bad experience and my last here. The top coat was super gooey and my nails of the regualr manicure had to be redone 2x.   They looked great when I left but by the time I got home it's as if they were melty and just peeled off a top mooshy coat still leaving color on the nail. I called the salon to make them aware asking for a possible refund. Let's just say I will no longer be going here or recommending them as my friend had the same thing happen 2 weeks ago with gel.

This has been my go to spot for 3 years! I get great fill-ins, manicures and pedicures. Me & my mom both come here! My nails have never broken, my shape is always good, & even the designs are great! Love them!

I have been meaning to get my eyebrows waxed but have been too busy. I was on my way to the grocery store and spotted Dp nails in the same parking lot, so I decided to stop in and see if they had any availability. They were able to take me right away. They did a very good job on my eyebrows and were fast and efficient. I will be back next time.
