Customer service at it's best! Went in with out an appointment. I was greeted promptly and within 8 minutes my hair was being worked on. I asked for a trimmed and blow dry. I came out looking fabulous with a new style. Definitely recommending this place to my family and friends. Can't wait to bring my children here as well.

ONLY BECAUSE I CAN'T GIVE IT ZERO STARS PART 1 Never again i had my first visit and never even got my hair washed. I made an appointment for natural hair for a wash/blowout/Flatiron for $60.00 I wasn't in the chair for 5 mins and she wanted to sell me a after braid treatment for $25.00. I said i haven't had my hair braided in over a year no thank you. I'll just have what i scheduled. She called someone over who said i needed a conditioner since my hair was very dry and it would cost $25.00. I once again said no thank you. To which they felt the need to not want to do what i made my appt for. I said I'm not payong 25.00 for conditioner please just wash and blowdry and flat iron my hair. I finally said never mind. That's like me going to get an oil change and they want to sell me tires and not want to give me the oil change because i don't want tires. I thought today might be the first of possible many visits since i haven't had a salon or regular stylist since moving from NYC. I was highly upset with the treatment of the staff my first visit. I could have made better use of my time today. I could have gone to a shop to get my hair washed and blown dried but choose this shop...NEVER AGAIN. I will be sure to share my bad experience with all of my friends and family via word of mouth and facebook. Being from NYC i was excited about finding a Dominican hair salon right here in woodbridge but unlike nyc i guess the PAYING customer is not always right. Nikki PART 2- FOLLOW UP CALL I just got off the phone with the "owner" of the shop so she said. But being in the customer service field for over 20 years. I refuse to believe an owner could treat a new customer the way i was treated as well as treat me the way i was just treated on the phone to follow up with my email that was also not answered. I have a very bad taste in my mouth from the lack of respect i received and to be treated like i did something wrong. I can not believe this. The owner after listening to my complaint regarding no service i received my very first visit to her establishment response was good you didn't get your hair done i wouldn't do it. All i wantes was what i scheduled my appointment for a wash/blowout / Flatiron for $60.00 the appointment was made online through their website and i also received an email confirming my appt for those services. I was going out of town for my week off vacation the day after what was supposed to be my hair appointment. Which left me scrambling to find an alternative and caused me to leave later than i was supposed to for my trip out of state. I will make sure i copy and post everything from my scheduled appointment the email confirmation. The first email which she said she received but never replied back to and this email my second email following my phone call with the owner of the shop today. I will share it all online, my fb page, yelp, the yellow pages, the better business bureau and any other review site. To let everyone know how they TREAT their NEW customers and how they deal with complaints. I guess business is so well that they DON'T need any new clients and i guess my money wasn't good there because I don't know of any business willing to let money WALK out the door. I know businesses trying to build up clientele not turn them away. I know this because my brother OWNS two hair salons in NJ and i wish i was there to bestow my business instead of being treated like crap here in VA. I have never in my 40 years been treated the way i have by amy's Dominican hair salon. Shame on you for the way you treat people. I will NEVER darken your salons doorway again. I would rather travel to Maryland to the Dominican hair salon and get the same services but at half the price and 100% better treatment. You should be ashamed of yourself and to call yourself the owner and not know how to handle business affairs in a more professional manner. Signed pissed off even more the 3rd time since my appointment. Nikki

The term "You get what you pay for." Is definitely applicable when it comes to this business. The facility is clean and presentable. It definitely sets itself apart from Dominican hair salons I am used to coming from New Jersey and New York. I spent four months looking for a Dominican location close to me that offers top of the line services and I think I found one. I went in for a wash and blow-out for my natural, dense and somewhat kinky hair. I walked-in on a Saturday and they were very busy. After the receptionist greeted me, she informed me of the prices for the Blowout ($60) and recommended a Deep Conditioning treatment ($15) and when I asked about the elevated prices, she was very clear about the products and services it includes. While it may be more than the typical $20-$30 I would pay at my comadre's in New York, I am not about to drive up there to get the same outcome. So, after a long week of work, I treated myself. I waited a bit, but was tended to shortly, and a stylist finished out the blow-out and flat-ironed my hair. Ok. Here's where I get why some people might leave angry with results. The Dominican Blow Out requires heat, heat, heat! It's all worth it in the end. I was burned once and told the stylist and it didn't happen again. She took her time and was FOCUSED on the flat iron. Once I was done, I was told again how much it cost and was on my merry way, hair blowing gently in the wind. What kept me from giving five stars was the fact that when the stylist burned me, I had to get the receptionist to translate for me and that they faced me away from the mirror when I was getting styled. All in all, quality work, went dancing and hair is bouncy and shiny. Would recommend this location and will be returning.

This place is the worse!!!!!I took my daughter to this salon to get an after braid treatment and a simple wash and set. I was told it would be between 60 and 70 dollars, well once my daughter was finished getting her hair done and burnt several times, they gave me the receipt and the price was 110 dollars, I absolutely went off on AMY which is the owner and told her she told me one price and why is it 110!!!! To make a long story short, this lady was sooooo rude, no customer service skills whatsoever!!!! I left out of there paying 80 dollars and told her to take it or leave it, this place is a total rip off and I will never step foot inside this money hungry salon that didn't even do a good job on my daughters hair!!!! This place is a SCAM STAY AWAY, find another Dominican salon that does it for 30 or even less and a better job!!!!'
