I've followed Jeremy to two salons now and they are the color guru. The personal treatment I get with luxury shampoos, scalp massages, and dead sexy blow-outs seals the deal. I'm a loyal fan and will be returning for Jeremy's color and style expertise monthly. Naimah is also an amazing stylist and masters the cut with my curly, long locks. I'm a new woman and am loving it!

I went to this salon and the first time stylist was nice. I went back just to have my hair blown out. I have curly hair so it was work to get it straight. He did a very nice job but what a bad attitude. Charged me 85 and complained the entire time. Total jerk. Told me not to come back it was just too much for him. I asked another girl if she could do my hair and she was even nastier and was going to charge me 150.00 for a blow dry. I recently was sick and went to this salon because it was close to my house. I could walk. I wanted to have a really pleasant experience. This salon has the Rudest people as stylists. They should not offer services they do not want to do and then discriminate and charge some people more because they might not like their hair or them. I think they should show some compassion especially during these times. They have a really bad attitude and do not go to this place

I followed a stylist Susan Nahorney from Vidal Sassoon over to diPietro Todd after Vidal Sassoon San Francisco salon closed its doors on Sutter Street. Susan is highly skilled and creative in her craft. I never have to worry about receiving a bad haircut from her. Similar to Vidal Sassoon, diPietro separates their Stylist from their Colorist, so when you make an appointment for a color and a cut, you have to book with two different people. Pre-Covid: Bustling little salon located across from the TransAmerica building on Washington Street. Greeted at the front, you change downstairs to a gown and after you sit down, you are often asked if you wanted tea or coffee or water as you wait for your stylist or colorist. There was a separate section for colorist then a few rows for stylist. Post-Covid: A much more calmer vibe with less people and clients are spaced much further apart. Masks are worn by everyone. You still change downstairs, however, no more complimentary drinks. A lot of the colorist have left for various reasons during the pandemic. Lisa was the colorist I use to see but I heard she opened up her shop across the opposite side of the country, so I have yet to find another colorist at the salon. Products: They do use high end products like Oribe, Olaplex, Rene Furteree, Christopher Robin. Parking: On the street if you're lucky or else, there's the Hilton underground garage a block up or two blocks up there's the garage at Portsmouth Square.

I knew I was taking a risk with a free haircut, but decided to go anyway. My student was working towards the end of her 2 year program, but had to be constantly reminded of how to approach the client. Isn't it a 101 of hairdressing? I came in to refresh my bob, but left with a grown out pixie. I could see straight lines in one place, longer pieces of hair sticking out in the other - all in all a very sloppy job. I kept it cool, because I was sure the educator would fix the mistakes her student made. She, however, gave her a dirty look, told her to take a picture so they can discuss it later and let me out with a horrible unprofessional cut. Not sure what the girl learned there in almost 2 years.

Mr. DiPietro has been dead for many years, the Todd's run the salon. They moved from their massive Union Square location to a cheaper smaller Salon on Washington street. The salon was was once a happening place. High energy and trendy. Things have dimmed with age and inflation. The color cuts and styles are good, but vary from stylist to stylist. Check out other options before investing $300-$400.
