Diamond Barber Shop in Mariposa, CA

I love taking my son to get his haircut by Victoria. She is the sweetest person, always listens to my son when he is explaining what he wants. She always does such a great job and is always very accommodating. My son has been going to Victoria since she opened Diamond Barbershop, and I only take him to Victoria since she has a better understanding of his hair type, and his curls. My sons hair has a mind of its own, so I definitely need a barber who can understand that, and Victoria definitely does!

Ruined my hair. I have been trying to grow my hair out for years. I have thick hair and as it grew, to about my armpit level, it got very heavy. I came in to get long layers and some face framing layers to help with the heaviness. I explained that I wanted to keep my length but only lighten the load and showed 3 photos as examples of what I wanted. However, the hair I left with, was far from what I asked for. Unfortunately, she ruined year of hair growth. Completely butchering my hair, causing me to have to go somewhere else to get it fixed. She was extremely nice and I enjoyed her as a person, but as a hairdresser/hairstylist she ruined my hair.

I have been looking for a good barber for my son and finally found the place! There was no where in town that would see my son or were not comfortable cutting 2 year olds. I had to go to Merced or Fresno which is a long drive. Victoria was so good with my son, She made him feel so comfortable and he didn't cry while getting his hair cut. Victoria was quick and did an excellent job! This spot has turned into my husbands and sons go to spot for haircuts! They only take cash so we have to remember to have it ready when we go.

I was hesitant to try Diamond because I haven't had the greatest experiences with the other salons in town (no shade, I just never *clicked* with the other stylists) -- but I have to admit, I had a good feeling about the place as soon as I walked in. Super spacious, very clean, NICE air conditioning, incredibly friendly staff -- would love to have some background music in the future, but I know it's a new place, she's still settling in! Victoria was patient as I explained what I wanted and she was sure to ask questions so we were on the same page before she started cutting my hair. I can honestly say I've never had a gentler touch on my hair before, and she was so precise -- this is not a woman who half-asses her work. She cares about her clients and that they're happy with their haircuts. I will DEFINITELY be back!
