de'Arti has been my salon for 8+ years. I've been seeing Inna for years for both cut and color. I've only strayed twice in 8 years to see other stylists and every time I do, I regret it. I immediately book an appointment to go back and see Inna. Inna is warm, knowledgable, and cares about her clients. There is a special relationship that develops when you've been seeing a stylist for this long. Inna knows my hair texture, she knows what I like, and always delivers consistent results.

Paul is the best colorist there is. I have gone to him for 15 years and followed him from 4 salons. I have several friends who have done the same. If you want beautiful golden highlights for moist or dark brown hair he is the best. I've never had bad color. Occasionally I've tried another closer to home (I live in Orinda) but I always go back to Paul as he never disappoints. Plus he's super laid back and fun to talk to, or not, if you are busy working during your spot. The salon is very nice and modern. The chairs are the most uncomfortable I've ever sat in. My advice to the owner is to buy more comfortable chairs - though I know she's going for a design aesthetic. Nevertheless I recommend it for its boutique, high end feel.

Went to Terri for the first time the other day for partial highlights and she was amazing! She made a few suggestions of things she would try like a gloss and the end result was perfect! My hair is falling out due to hormones crashing 5 months after having my 3rd baby and she gave me some awesome tips on products to use and did an awesome trim to make it feel fuller. I highly recommend her!

I had an appointment with Paul for a highlight and haircut. The salon called on the day of to cancel and provided no reason whatsoever. People plan these appointments weeks in advance and make plans around them. Most unreliable salon ever. I will not be re-booking here and will certainly be warning my friends not to make appointments here either.

I went to Emily for a color several months ago and it wasn't quite what I was hoping for but when I returned to get my roots done, she assured me she knew what she would do differently this time and so I trusted her with a cut and a color. The cut was great. She recommended a glaze, so I agreed. The glaze was either left on too long or incorrectly applied as it burned my scalp and marked it for 48 hours. She closed the salon that evening and was rushing to get out of there so I didn't make a scene or act overly critical but its was obvious I was not impressed with the service and I rushed home to wash my scalp in cold water. Again, great cut however. And its hard to find a great cut in SF. So several months later I made a booking with her for a cut only. When I turned up for the appointment there was a "problem with the booking" and she wasn't available. So I made a new booking the next day. When I arrived she took me outside and said "there must be an issue as I've tried to contact you and I have decided I won't be cutting your hair." I received no message of any sort and it was a complete waste of my time. I have empathy and compassion for whatever is going on with people, but this is unbelievably unprofessional and rude. I'd love to know what the owner of this salon thinks of this, especially when other staff members I've encountered have always been so professional and friendly at this salon.
