Damia Hair Salon in San Francisco, CA

Extremely expensive! I didn't as the price at the beginning, but anyway taking $50 for short man's haircut(nothing special) is over the limit. Not bad, but the hairdresser Antonio was too much interested in getting money than making a haircut

My experience here was so bad that it has compelled me to do my first Yelp review. I have been looking for a good salon for a while, and have been jumping around, and I saw the great reviews for this salon and decided to check it out. I went in to see Dominique for color and it was a disaster. I have blonde hair, and I wanted to go to more of a strawberry blonde/light red head look. I brought in tons of pictures of colors I liked and colors I didn't like (too orange, too red, too dark, etc.). I show Dominique the pictures and he said he knew exactly what I wanted, so I was excited. Instead of light strawberry blonde/red head, I got VERY DARK BROWN. Not light brown, not red head, but straight up dark brown. Not even close to anything in any of the pictures I showed. Not even almost. It looked terrible and a month later the color has faded to a gross brassy dull light brown. The color was also uneven - a few days after I went I could see blonde around my hairline - meaning he didn't get the color all the way to the roots. Now, I have to go spend even more money to get this color corrected! Dominique was very nice, but I am never going back.

Dominique Courtois gave me a really cool cut and color. I brought in some photos of various cuts I liked but told him that I was open minded and that he could create what was best. It was clear that he was quick to glean what I was hoping for and I think if you just trust him you'll get something even better than you had imagined. I have fine, wavy hair that can get a little frizzy but can also get flat. He knows how to work with that type of hair and the style he gave me is something that I can maintain easily but still looks great - it works with the way my hair is, if that makes sense. He recommended a product that would be helpful but didn't oversell. He is a total professional and is easy to get along with. I'll be a repeat customer for sure.

I was looking for a highly rated salon near my home and found Re:Construction. I randomly chose Dominique Courtois and I am SO HAPPY!. He did wonderful things to my very wavy hair. He did a great cut AND a great color. So great to have one person do both. The salon itself is warm and intimate and the three people there are all friends with one another. You can schedule you own appointments online so none of the receptionists with one brain cell answering the phone. So great! Loved it.

Katrina gives me the best haircuts I've ever had. And she's awesome at styling hair too! Highly recommend.
