I got my nails done here and I asked for gel and She said it was gel. then why did it come off with nail polish remover and chip off? I thought it was fishy when they didn't have the UV lamp they had me sit use a Chintzy lamp and had to dry for 15 min. That isn't right

Have gone before and been happy, but never had to go back for a repair and see this side of them! I do not use fake nails. I have been blessed with nice strong natural nails. I went in for a French manicure Thursday at 4:30pm for my daughter's wedding. I did nothing in water and no lifting of any kind so I know this was not due to that. After going to bed early I woke up at 6:30am. Sitting having my coffee and looked at my nails. Three of the white tip were chipping. One was almost 1/3 gone! So I went back as soon as they opened to have them fix them with the short time frame I had. The 3 ladies in front of me were so kind to let me in front when they overheard my calm complaint of needing a repair. The employees would not allow me in front. They would only paint where the chipping was. They refused to redo without charging me. I explained that it was due to their work. They stood their ground. Told me I should've gotten acrylic. My nails looked horrible. Large ridges and bumps where the new paint over lapped the chipped areas. I ended up having to remove it and buy a Sally Hansen kit. I will never return.

Let me say this...until customers become more educated about what is good salon practice and start demanding a higher quality of service, places like this will keep providing less than acceptable and possibly unhealthy and a dangerous quality of service. Things to be aware of and ask: Keep an eye on where all the implements are coming from. Metal equipment and attachments should come in a sealed pouch (autoclave sterilization) or out of a disinfectant solution that is typically a blue sanitize liquid (not Windex!) . Secondly, ask to see the nail file/buffer block BEFORE it is used on you. Single use items are: files, buffers, pedicure liners and gloves. Again, ask to see these items before they are used on you. If you see any lines in the paper from previous use, it's a red flag. Again, these are one-time use items. A GOOD TRICK is to ask if you can keep your single-use items after the service since they are supposed to throw them away, anyway. If they are hesitant, it's a big red flag. Lastly, if this is a pedicure, ask to see the logs and check to see when was the last time they cleaned the pedicure station. Cheese grater scrapers, commonly used in a pedicure, are not acceptable and should not be used. Unfortunately, this place is filthy and nasty. The equipment and nail polish bottles look sticky, yucky and gunky. They pull attachments out of a tackle box in a drawer that customers can not see easily. I have no clue on how many other customers the drill bits were used on. The big dust brush that the tech used to brush away acrylic dust was filled with so much old acrylic dust, I felt like I had more dust on my hands after she brushed my fingers, than before. Gross! The uv light dryers are gross with dried, old polish covering them. They look like they've never been cleaned. The techs are completely hard to communicate with. Acrylic nails have been painful with skin getting nicked and bleeding. The last time I went there, the tech sanded around my cuticles and it burned on FOUR of my 10 fingers as she sanded close to the cuticle! The tech giggled when I said ouch and pulled my and away. I don't see a cash register and the only time that I've seen anything close to a receipt is on the rare occasion when I sign a credit card slip. I have no idea how they keep track of sales and taxes. The only positive is that if you want a quick procedure, they are quick.
