CrysStyle THE SALON formally Salon XO in Baltimore, MD

I arrived on time to my appointment at Salon XO and learned that there were three people in front of me. Crystal had not yet arrived to work and one person had already been waiting 1 1/2 hours. I was not inclined to wait so I asked the stylist who was present what the process was for getting a refund of my $50 deposit that is required to schedule an appointment. I'm told that there supposedly is a 30 minute "grace period policy," however the policy that is provided when scheduling online does not mention any sort of grace period. What's further baffling is that grace periods are for clients who are late to an appointment, not for the service provider. When Crystal arrives I request a refund and was told I won't be given one b/c of this "grace period policy" and that I could leave. I told her I was not made aware of any such policy when I booked but she made it clear she was not interested in having a professional conversation about the matter. In short her dismissiveness and unprofessionalism led to an unfortunate exchange between us. In the interest of your own physical and emotional well being, I highly advise against doing business at this "salon."

Nice work if you want to pay $90 for a wash, haircut, and blow dry after being quoted $25-40 at the beginning. No color or highlight involved. I have never had my hair cut without having it washed/made wet prior to cutting. They attempted to dry cut my hair at first (takes less time I guess) which is a very bad idea in my opinion. Apparently the price quoted was for a subpar job and a "normal" job was doubled in price as a surprise at the end. They consider washing your hair and drying it with a round brush an added bonus, I guess, that is worth charging you more than double. I initially said I wanted it straight, nothing fancy. I had nowhere special to go (except home), but they tried to get me to agree to them drying it with a round brush, which I would have quickly refused had I known what it would cost me. If they said it hidden in other conversation, it was too fast for me to catch. There was only one person available to cut hair on arrival. They called someone in who drove 20 minutes to the place to cut my hair. They must have felt that deserved them more money for actually coming in to work. If your poison is to splurge a lot of money on a haircut with false quotes on cost provided to you up front, then this is the place for you. Yes, the hair cut was decent, but I have never in my entire life been charged so much for a haircut and blow dry.

Two Words...actually a name...CRYSTAL RAMSEY...she is the owner and and has been my stylist for years...she's knowledgeable and cares about healthy hair care...you'll be in and out...she's amazing
